I loved this book. It’s really that simple. I was completely blown away by how much I enjoyed it, I don’t typically read too much romance and definitely not about rockers covered in tattoos. I guess Brandy Rivers ruined that for me. There was so much more to this book than tattooed rockers, there was action, magic, shifting, laughter, hot steamy melt your face off sex, and a love story. I am looking forward to her other books now and being a part of the world of Edenton.
Brandy brought a show more complete package with this book. Some of the characters I understand were brought over from her other novels, however, each character was written in a way that I felt that like I have always known them. I feel connected to them. Her characters are believable, relatable, and down to earth. She made the antagonists so vile that loathing is the mildest word I can use to describe my feelings toward them. Be warned however, I ugly cried, and if you have half a heart, you will too!
I am anxious to get to know more about the Others, the shifters, the demons, the druids, witches and warlocks. I am afraid she may have created a monster! I am completely won over and can’t wait to delve deeper into her world. 5 Stars for this one. show less

Gritty, raw, real, edgy, sexy; the adjectives describing how I feel reading the books in this series, Ms. Rivers books are definitely not for the faint of heart. Her characters are well developed, the characters are not polished and refined as to be unbelievable. They are real, sincere, down to earth people, with issues that the average reader can relate to, even the supernatural problems are written as if it happens to everyone, everyday. The plot is driven hard, just when you think you show more know what will happen next, she weaves in another element that keeps it churning toward the spectacular conclusion.
I loved this installment as much, if not more than the first book in this series. Dragons, what?? Oh my, she completely had me at dragons! Not to mention all the otherworldly creatures, I have a feeling we are just cracking the door on this series, there is a lot more to come! If you are a fan of things paranormal and supernatural, this is the series for you! 5 Stars!! show less

Trevor Malone and his clan have just moved to Seattle to escape yet again the rival pack that is determined to make their lives miserable. While he and his band, Lunar Storm, are in the middle of their gig a sexy brunette walks into the bar and he knows she is his. When his clan drags him from the bar before he can talk to her again, he just hopes he can find her again.
Roxana Nights is sick of dealing with her messed up drummer, but he has been in her life, as a friend then a lover and show more finally an ex, since she was three so kicking him to the curb is easier said than done. When she hears the lead singer of Lunar Storm her reaction is instantaneous, so he her set ends and he is gone she is disappointed.
I loved Nights Embrace, there was so much going on that it seemed like I had really walked into world full of people who are so fully developed that you can almost see exactly what they look like. I love it when I get to read books like that and these days those are exactly the books I need to take me away for mini brain vacations. I loved Roxana, Trevor, Mikey and Joey instantly and I was sure Jordan was going to be the bad guy monkey wrench in the story, so Boyd and Dina kind of came out of left field. AND the best part is the bad guys were an intricate part of the whole story instead of just popping up out of the blue one or two times or just at the end and the same thing happened when William the dick head and Kathryn the bitch face entered the story. My favorite part besides the sex scenes was when Roxana broke Dina’s face with one punch, hot damn that was awesome. Add in the hot make out scenes and rockin’, steamy hot sex scenes for good measure and you have a great book worth the time it will take you to read it.
The bad news is I really, really super bad want to give Nights Embrace a five-star rating but after counting up all the edits that I found I can only give it three-stars which saddens me since it is an amazing story.

dnf at 20%, worst kind of marry sue cliché fest.
There is no buildup, nothing, this one goes right into the *mate* *mine* trope with the most unbelievable instalove I have seen so far.
The protagonists have general characteristics but no consistency in their personalities past that.
Logic and reason went completely out the window and so did relatability based on human emotion even discounting logic.
The entire thing is a huge mess of contradictions that broke all suspension of disbelief in an show more eye blink for me.
Oh, and of course we have the *legendary chilli* and lots of other clichés of the sort.
This is just an accumulation of badass nice small American town tropes afaict.
To end on something somewhat positive: the writing itself is decent or even pretty good.
It's simple but easy to read. I would never have gotten so far into the book if the writing didn't go down so easily.
If you are here just for an extra-large portion of mate mine and don't care about anything else this might be enjoyable but if you anything more past that this probably will be a disappointment. show less
