First, the cover. Why? Oh why did you hide that magnificent man like that? LOL I couldn't help myself but I had to point out that the author hid this hunk of manliness. I mean all you see are muscles and a sword. The title is definitely the reason I grabbed this book. I really like highlander romances. There is just something about those highlander men. As for the characters, we have the usual hot highlander men (the Grant clan) and a heroine that is as sweet as she is strong. I love a show more strong heroine and this book did not disappoint. I love that even her servants loved her enough to help her during the worst of her living nightmare. Now unto the villains of the book. There are villains that just make trouble and there are villains that you love to hate. These ones are of the love to hate variety. Her brother is cruel and ruthless but his friend might be even worse than he is. Poor Maddy had the misfortune to have to deal with both of them. There are some very brutal topics of rape & abuse so this book is definitely not for the faint of heart. However, this book is well written and you find yourself cheering for Maddy & Alex and they try to be happy. Overall, this is a very good read but definitely not for everyone. show less
Ok, so of course I enjoyed it because of my fave, the traumatized, scarred Mary Sue (think a slightly less historically accurate [b:This Is All I Ask|50718|This Is All I Ask (de Piaget, #6; de Piaget/MacLeod, #3)|Lynn Kurland|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388375906l/50718._SY75_.jpg|2301993]). Nailed it!!! But one major complaint: WHY OH WHY did the villains have to be gay men?? I am SO tired of the trope of evil, murderous homos. Gays are like a show more bajillion times more likely to be murder victims than murderers! Please, for the love of god, STOP WITH THIS.

p.s. I swear I had already read this, there is a ton of familiar details, but it doesn't seem to be on my read shelf, so...?

Sorcha.

As the danger mounts and Cailean and Sorcha are brought together again and again, their heated attraction becomes a deeper connection. But can Cailean convince Logan, the most fearsome man in the Highlands, that he is a worthy match for his firstborn daughter?
My Thoughts:
Sorcha (The Highland Clan) Book 8 by Keira Montclair is an absolute pleasure to read. Can be read as a stand alone. Ms. Montclair has written a story that has so much to offer readers, it has danger, adventure, drama, show more excitement, a bit of humor, some witty banter and romance.
I was pulled into Cailean McAdam and Sorcha Ramsay’s story from the very beginning. Sorcha has gone from a wee lassie to a grown lass, which perturbes her father, Logan, the most feared man in the Highlands. He is legendary. Cailean is proud, strong and brave, a guard for the Ramsay’s, and also cares deeply for Sorcha, but he’s not in her social class, he’s a mere guard. Can he convince Logan he is a worthy suitor? Has Sorcha’s feelings grown to love? Will they survive the danger they are facing, from unknown assailants?

Readers, will simply be factinated and thrilled as they are reading, “Sorcha”. I myself was astonished at Cailean and Sorcha’s young love and how Cailean finally gave in to marriage, family, love, and how he was determined to prove his love, even to the point of nearly dying. Friendship can turn to a strong and determined love. The antics of Logan was hilarious at times, sad at others, as he fears losing his beloved daughter. Every father’s nightmare.

I highly recommend this fast paced, thrilling and highly anticipated story. It has everything a romance reader could possibly wish in a Scottish Romance, and more. Brilliantly and masterfully written. The cast of characters were fantastic, even the villains were quiet convincing, which only added to Cailean
and Sorcha’a story.
Keira Montclair is one of my go to Medieval Scottish Romance authors. She never disappoints me, she always leaves me in absolute awe. What a mesmerizing story!! Well done, Ms. Montclair! I can’t wait to read the next grand adventure. Powerful and compelling. A definite must read for fans of Scottish Romance.
I received a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

Love it!! THE HIGHLAND CLAN series is exciting and exhilarating. While book 10, it can it read as and a stand alone.
Well written, fast paced, page turner that will keep you glued to the pages. The plot is very intriguing, adventurous and of course, romantic. It has twists and turns and a few surprises along the way. Fantastic and mesmizing!
Bethia and Donnan’s story is one of past tragedy and sorrows, that brings them closer together. They understand each other. Bearchun, the Ramsay's clan show more swore enemy, plans to watch and wait, before he destroys the Ramsay clan forever, or so he thinks.
BETHIA is a powerful and compelling story of opposite attraction to each other, and the irony of a hermit and a misfit finding love and a HEA.
Ms. Montclair manages to pull readers into her stories with her descriptions, her characterizes, her seamlessly and effortlessly writing style and her exotic Scotland. Magnificent!!! A must read and a definite keeper. A true treasure!
