Well written and thorough, it is the starting point for serious study of fluvial geomorphology.
After a hydrology college course, I read this book. I believe the book is very inclusive and clear on the principles governing the various aspects and processes of rivers.
Reading this book, the reader will be well informed about the nature of flooding and municpal water suplies, as well as water contamination, erosion, quality of fishing and boating recreation, and other topics of interest to most of us.
This is written by a son of Aldo Leopold(Sand County Almanac)., Luna Leopold was a well show more respected water scientist, the information in the book is both pertinent and well accepted by water scientists today. It is well written and enjoyable to read. show less
