Ms. Morgan is truly an astute and deep thinker. Her extensive bibliography reads like the "Who's Who" of Christian thought and history. The first part of the book which concerns history is well-written. Her conclusions are refreshing and exciting because she sees that biblical Christianity simply cannot be contained by the institutions and governments which have sought to take ownership of it over the centuries. However, I had to "ding" her a little on the solutions she offers. Even though show more they may be good solutions, they are on the idealistic (and charismatic) side of things. Most noteworthy, she is confused about the nature of "truth" and doesn't seem to understand the parallel interactions between truth and love. Instead, she ascribes the activities of Christian love to biblical truth, thus turning truth into a "verb". The effect is a definition of truth which is somewhat obtuse and esoteric, while leaving love virtually undefined. show less
