A remarkable and beautiful new book that enters uncharted territory in explaining the vitally important pilot skill of understanding atmospheric perturbations. Rather than "teaching" with dreary old black and white drawings of isobars and fronts, endless graphs, and reams of figures, Pilot's Weather provides full-color photos and clear explanations of what fliers actually see and experience, excelling in making weather comprehensible to the non-meteorologist. This book is for readers who are show more interested in flying aircraft, ultralights, gliders, or kites -- or whose interest is the weather itself. show less
LOVE these books! Weather is always a popular topic and this book is so broad in it's coverage (pun intended) that you could use it in a variety of ways - it really helps students organize a large variety of information. The historical aspect of the topics covered makes this a cross-curricular gem. You could literally use the book in 3 or 4 subjects on the same day and never discuss the same bit of information.
Weather is beautifully illustrated with detailed, full-color photography. The text is an assortment of facts and explanations for numerous natural processes, mostly at a summary level. Additional features include a table of contents, an index, and a glossary. The result is an engaging magazine-style format, which serves as an introduction to the subject. Its selection is best for middle school readers.
This book was made for primary kids. This book explains different types of weather that occur and shows nice images of them as well. It's a very informational book.
