OK, I'm a sucker for crochet lace patterns. This does not, of course, mean that there is any chance of my ever crocheting a tablecloth or bedspread. (Even twenty years ago most of this was very old fashioned.) The peacock cloth on the cover is just possible, or maybe one of the edgings.

Big down side to this book: There are diagrams for the filet crochet, but not for the other patterns, and I find diagrams a lot easier to read. Of course, those peacocks are filet.

A Decade of French Fashion is a must-have for lovers of fashion and history. Each page details couture from 1929-1938. Fashion has changed dramatically over the years, especially during the 1920s and 1930s.

This book is in the style of fashion plates that individuals would get in the mail to inform them of the latest styles. I'm not a fashion expert by any means, but I love looking at these pictures. I love how the styles go from conservative to more carefree.

I've gone through this book show more several times admiring the different styles and the creativity and art that go into each one. This is a great coffee table book that will bring you enjoyment for years to come. I highly recommend this book for anyone in the fashion, film, and art industry. Or someone who just likes to look through fashion magazines.

The artist was successful in elegantly illustrating the French clothes. It was wonderful to see the details of styles and the rich colors used by the artist. I just wish there were more varieties in footwear but maybe plain shoes were 'in' during those years. The captions and descriptions aided the readers to fully visualize the appropriate materials for the clothes. This is a nice reference for the designers, stylists, and artists. They could use this as an inspiration or guide. The show more illustrations could also be enjoyed by the people who like history or those who want to relive their past. show less
