This is the first book by Hemingway that I read and the one I have most enjoyed so far. I love the descriptions of spanish towns and bull riding. Although he romanticizes the peaks he also shows how devastating the lows are in such a monotone way that there is no need to picture someone crying.
Ehhhh not the book for me. This is the second book of Hemingway's I've read (I finished the other one, lol--A Farewell to Arms) and I am setting this one aside. At this point in my life, where I don't drink, me and Hemingway are not the best match for each other, heh. And some of the subject matter was just ... yeah, no. Not for me. I'm stopping while I'm more or less ahead.

I won a copy of the book in a Goodreads giveaway. All opinions are my own.
As an instructor who uses The Jungle as an assigned text, this book is useful so I can keep up with what not to ask students on exams or identify specific phrases from the study guide itself. Over all, this is a decent guide and explanation of Sinclair's book.
It was the first book I read from this author and it was excellent.A look into a culture so different from us.
