David Frankfurter’s new book is a masterpiece. It betrays deep knowledge of Egypt in late antiquity and it presents an approach to religion in general and (early) Christianity in particular, that has really changed my thought. I recommend it to everyone working in either early Christianity or religion in general. A must read!
An interesting topic that the author managed to grind to a completely dull and repetitive halt.
