This book came from our health insurance plan. It goes symptom by symptom with self-care suggestions, flow charts on when to see the doctor, etc. Although there are several reliable websites on which to research serious conditions, this book is a great place to begin checking on symptoms because it will not scare you to death with obscure conditions you "might" have. The focus is on self-care and prevention, which suits me.
This book has a lot of general health information, from general advice to home treatment for lung cancer. While it does explain most diseases and what to do about them, there are still some flaws in the text, like in one page they reccomend emergency care for a fever with heartburn. Good health book in general, but could be better with revisions.
