This oversized book will delight readers with its massive, colorful illustrations and its clear straightforward text. It covers a lot of ground without ever feeling rushed; it explains science and history and different cultural traditions without getting too bogged down in details. Informative, fun, and lovely—did I mention lovely?—this coffee table book for children brings a sense of wonder to this nature study.
A beautifully illustrated book about everything tree related (not just leaves, roots, heights, oldest, endemic, but treehouse, wooden art and buildings, family frees, tree monsters, etc.) This book could be geared toward children as young as 2 or 3 with adult readers grabbing a sentence or two to explain some the imagery. A reader with patience of 8 to 10 will read it on their own with no issues. I recommend a map with book for reference as well as an adult or app for pronounciation help. show more One thing that bothered me was I felt some people drawn were stereotypically. But again illustrations are wonderful. show less
In giant A3 format, illustrated in full-colour cartoon style, aimed at 8-15 year olds but also appealing to adults, accurate and informative, with surprising sections on ancient Egyptian, also Asian, Ethiopian and tree beekeeping. A complete one-off. You will either love it or hate it, but most will love it.
Beautiful, life like illustrations and high- interest facts make this book delightful. It is a bit difficult to navigate if you are looking for a specific topic or piece of information. It seems like it is intended to be enjoyed as a whole or flipped through the way children often do searching for something that catches their eye. This book has plenty to catch the eye!
