Not something that I had planned to read, but picked up for a dollar. The problem with books like this -- garnered from travel articles in a magazine -- is that their freshness date has long passed. Some of these pieces I abandoned early on, and others were just so-so. I had higher hopes as the publisher is Penguin.

Some stories are better than others, as with most compilations of various writers and writing styles. I quite enjoyed all the visuals of reading this book and a lot of the historical facts at the end of each short story were really interesting. A fun book with a lot of great writing!
