It's Yes is More but organized by temperature. This is a good book on architecture and how one office has taken the task to organize their work by climate and how Bjarke Ingles and his team has sought to create buildings that work by the logic set forth in Yes is More but tuned, even more so, to climate and climate change itself.

Beautifully designed and organized Big, Hot to Cold is a great architecture book and reference piece for architects and designers. It's also a great add to anyone show more who loves great book design and beautiful graphics. show less

Very little of this book is actual text. It is mostly photographs arranged by exterior, interior, and details. At the end of each section is a list of the photographs as thumbnails with the page numbers and titles below. The beginning photographs are in black and white and date back to the 1930's. I would enjoy this book more if individual credit were given to the photographs and a more detailed description existed of each. It would be a good book for an art class--either to copy show more compositions and colors or just to gain ideas for original pieces. It may also serve well in a social studies class as a look at how China has changed over the years and the similarities/differences to American style.
Because it is almost wholly comprised of photographs I think children as young as eight and as old as eighteen could enjoy it and assignments could be tailored to any grade level. show less

With introduction about erotica as a defense against death in English, French, and German, these 30 postcards from remote antiquity to the 20th Century form an arc of erotic depictions. Apparently, such human art went from shamanistic phallic displays to one or more women in consensual sex-play to one woman actor in a bondage vignette.

Actual rating: 2.5

Formatting is not great. The pages with the information on each artist is red, which makes it very hard to see the black text.

It has outdated information for some of the people. Like with Echiiro Oda's section it says the anime recently came out... It was released in 1999, this was published in 2017. I'd say that's not very recent
