Very well written and I did enjoy it. The mystery is sound and not easy to put together. I do think that it is so enjoyable to watch Clouseau just stumble his way to greatness, very amusing.
If you are a fan of the old Godzilla movies then you will enjoy this. It starts as a direct sequel to the original film with several callbacks to the 1956 American version. Felt like I was watching a movie while I was reading. Fun read.
A bit /too/ condensed for my taste. Each labor was basically - receive labor, solve problem, knew labor - no depth of any kind to speak of. It also seemed to be missing part of the conclusion; Hercules was bored so the oracle told him to complete 12 labors for the king. He completes the tasks but he learns no lesson and he even gets out of doing an extra task, so they obviously weren't to his liking. One final knitpick - I am absolutely SICK of authors using all the Greek names but then show more saying "Hercules;" Hercules is his ROMAN name. "Heracles" is his proper Greek name; either stick with the Greek or the Roman; don't switch back and forth willy-nilly. show less
I stumbled over this only days after finishing a week-long view of the first season of the series "24". This book is different from other books about TV series I have read. It has the form of the investigation of a senate committee into the things that happened during the famous first 24 hours of Jack Bauer. "Testimonies" of all persons involved, some of which the reader hasn't seen on-screen and "documents that have been declassified" retell the story of the first season from a different show more perspective. Interesting read. Re-read value: After re-viewing the series. show less
