Sleeping Beauty meets dinosaurs... I'm already hooked!

Princess Bronty is a beautiful dinosaur princess! She has three little fairies who are little toucan/dinosaurs, but she also has a villain in the form of Rhonda. The remaining tale follows the path of Sleeping Beauty pretty well, with a few bumps and changes along the way.

I think this is a cute way to introduce some of the classic fairy tales to children without delving into the originals. Since the actual originals are quite dark and not show more everyone wants to read and watch Disney all the time, books like this can be very handy.

The art itself was fun, especially all of the dinosaurs. I also think the story was quite cute. It didn't change the story too much (which I would have liked to see) but it was still a good quality book.

My biggest con is that it changes the romance that is from Sleeping Beauty. I don't think it worked well in that regards - it felt... very odd. That always seemed like the point of Sleeping Beauty.

Three out of five stars.

I received this book for free via NetGalley.

This dinosaur version of Rapunzel is very fun. In this case, Rapunzel is locked in the tower, so she sings. She makes a friend who climbs up the tower to come and play music with her. But the evil witch does not like this and cuts off Pterapunzel‘s hair. And that’s what it takes for Rapunzel to learn that she can fly and save herself. I love a modern fairytale where the princess saves herself and doesn’t need to rely on the prince. This book is fun, the illustrations match, and there show more are kids who are going to want to read it repetitively. show less
We freaking love Dumbo in this house. We have elephants everywhere. So to say we adore reading this book to Audrey is an understatement! I need to buy this one. It's simple text that I see teaching Audrey to read by
In this story, Barbie travels to a secret fairy world in order to save Ken from a love spell.

I had mixed emotions for this book. I liked it because my inner 9 year old still loves a solid Barbie story while the secret fairy world sparked a little bit of imagination I didn't realize that I had. However, the book felt choppy; the story-line was difficult to follow. If Graciella was put under a love spell, why did she go after Ken, a complete stranger, and not Zane, a guy she already knows? show more When did Raquelle become a fairy? How did Raquelle and Barbie know to become friends in order to break the spell? So many questions, not enough answers! show less
