an excellent view of maths development to 1950 - with excellent brief intros to "group theory", non-euclidean geometry, Cantor etc., very economically and clearly written and when written a good indicator of the prescence of great female mathematicians with insufficient recognition. a very fine work.
Awkward hamfisted writing featuring cringe inducing labeling of societies as "savage" and "primitive" with fabricated historical vignettes of mathematicians.
