I had seen clips of the movie and was interested to read the book, i was super surprised that the book was based on the movie and not the other way around. I thought the main character was a mix of insufferable and understandable. She had the right idea of teaching the girls they could be more without respecting that some of them (like joan) wanted to be a mother and wife more than to be a lawyer. I thought it was decent but the constant swap of POV can be difficult to track.

Watching the movie, made you want to read this beautiful book. You will read it in one breath. It keeps you chained to the story
