THE BITCH is the story of two characters: Nico Constantine who married into wealth at a young age, and Fontaine Al Khaled, who also married into wealth. Both of them are single by the time they meet accidentally on an airplane. Instant attaction....
The novel of course has several subplots weaving in and out, with lots of gratuitous sex and outrageous plot twists. But that's expected from a Jackie Collins novel. Nico finds he's dead broke and spends the rest of the novel trying to get himself out of this mess (big time gambling debt). Fontaine in the meantime is trying to rejuvenate her London night club, while at the same time ignores all advances from Nico, although deep down she is very attracted to him.
For a quick light read and some trashy writing, THE BITCH is recommended.

This was a bitter sweet read for because Ms. Collins lost her battle with cancer and she is one of the authors who sparked my love for books. One of the first books I read in high-school was American Star and it's still one of my favorite reads. This book was well written like all of the books that I have read by Ms. Collins with no errors in grammar or spelling. This book was good and I may or may not have read it years ago I can't remember. Three rock star the story starts with an impending event in 1987 involving 3 of the world's biggest musicians. It then goes back and tells each of their stories one of the comes from a wealthy family the other two had to struggle and fight to reach the top. Kris Phoenix is a legend and wildly sexy guitar hero with an ex-wife. Bobby Mondella is a Black soul superstar with a dark past and then there is bad boy Marcus Citroen who is the typical bad boy rocker. This book was hot with some really good sex scenes and I love reading about bad boy rock stars. Jackie Collins you will be missed. Some girls turn to ICE CREAM when they want to feel better I will forever turn to Jackie Collins books.… (more)

This was another one I missed back in the day. Unlike the exceptional Love Killers, this was was a bit cheezy, melodramatic, and borderline snooze fest to the point I feel like JC just phoned it in to get it out the way. This book is filled with horrible people who are damaged beyond recognition, and not even tragedy can make them redeemable.

This one is about a singer superstar Al King, who is an absolute prick. He has a wife, Edna and a son Evan who he mostly neglects in favor of living the lavish on the road lifestyle of a 70s singer ala Tom Jones. All he's worried about is his next hit, his next lay that doesn't bore him, and getting his son laid. His brother Paul is his road manager and flunkie who also is cheating on his wife Melanie with Linda, a photographer that wants him full time in her life but he can't seem to say no to his brother.

Dallas is a freshly awarded beauty queen that comes from parents that abused her, neglected her education, and sold her off to a rapist. When she finally finds real intimacy said rapist becomes an attempted murderer. So having no education, she flees, whoring herself as far away from her parents as she can until it pays off and gives her a different life she never fathomed existed. Al sees her win her crown and becomes obsessed trying to bork her. Her agent Lew wants to smash too but hates her because she really isn't interested in dick.

Of course in real Collins fashion these two damaged people cross paths, shag, and go on a collision course of love and tragedy with a nice stellar supporting enabling cast of characters that will feed into their frenzy and help them down the steps of chaos, including, but not limited to, a nice plane crash in the jungle that adds a hundred more pages on to this novel than it should have which also leads to a rush ending with no true satisfaction. All the raunchy salacious sex in the world can't save the hack job of a bad ending.

This is a one and done. Sorely disappointed coming off of Lovehead, but maybe she had too much going on to give it the proper time with making the films The Bitch and The Stud.
