A collection of memories and short essays from many members of the Gaither Homecoming crew framed around the five senses.

Some of the entries are well-written and have wonderful spiritual insights. Others are Christmas anecdotes that are really only meaningful when shared between people who know each other. The "Taste" section also includes a smattering of recipes, some which look pretty tasty. Not bad as a coffee table book to flip through during the holiday season but not one that does well show more when read through in its entirety. show less
This live recording has a good mix of new and familiar songs, high energy and quiet tempos, and Southern gospel and country music. Come and See What's Happening in the Barn is a great opening song, full of energy. Many of the songs make me want to sing along. Christmas in the Country/Unspeakable Joy, Glory to God in the Highest, and Love in Any Language had my toes twitching.

If you like choral Christmas music or Southern gospel, I think you will like this CD.
This was a gift from a friend and I enjoy it each Christmas season. The recording is of a live performance, so be aware of that. From the opening Joy to the World to the final song New Star Shining it was an uplifting CD. There is a DVD of the same performance, so if you like to watch the Gaither Homecomings, you might prefer that.

My personal favorites are Beautiful Star of Bethlehem, Rejoice with Exceeding Great Joy, Come on Ring those Bells, and The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy. There's show more something for everyone's taste, including a jazzy piano version of Winter Wonderland.

If you enjoy Christmas music and don't mind live performances, I think you will like this CD.

This is another good Southern gospel album by the Gaither Vocal Band. There's something for everyone and several had my toes twitching with the beat. My favorites include My Lord and I, Singing with the Saints, Palms of Victory (an oldie but goody), and Happy Rhythm.

If you like Southern gospel, I think you'll like this CD. The harmonies are perfect.
