Amid our purity pledges and attempts to make chastity hip, we forgot to teach young Christians how to tie the knot. The ratio of Christian young women to men is far from even. This is the elephant in the corner of almost every congregation--a shortage of young Christian men. While our marriages are strengthened by romance, the latter has no particular loyalty to the former. Our feelings may lead us out of a marriage as quickly as they lead us into one.
Three responses to Mark Regnerus's case for early marriage. Parents need to get past the myth that their 22yr old newlywed children ought to be able to handle all of their expenses. They will need our help for awhile.
