Description
Henry Brooks Adams, who used the nom de plume Frances Snow Compton, was the son of ambassador Charles Francis Adams, brother of general Charles Francis Adams, Jr. and the writer Brooks Adams, and grandson of John Quincy Adams. He was also a member of the Five of Hearts, which included his wife Clover Adams, Secretary of State John Hay, Clara Stone Hay, and Clarence King.
