Parallel stories of two doctors. The historical story tells of the adventures of Jewish doctor Alejandro Canches in the Middle Ages as he attempts to battle the bubonic plague and other ailments. The futuristic story follows Janie Crowe, a doctor who has suffered in the 'Outbreaks' of a drug-resistant, virulent disease that have led to a medical police state. (English, Unclassified)
