What ages are attracted to Twilight?

Well? Post your ages. The Twilight series is geared toward teens, however book readers know better than that. Take C.S. Lewis for example. So, how old is everyone? Hopefully, the new Twilight movie is just bringing out the fangirl in everyone...and Twilight lovers aren't all just crazy 12 year olds who are done obsessing over Harry Potter and have moved on to something else.

Anyway, I'm 21.

I'd seen Twilight and the other books in the Teen Fiction shelves at the bookstore while chosing books for my nephew and neice (aged 10 and 12) and the odd book for me (aged 33) but ignored it as not suitable for any of us.

Then I kept seeing the discussions about it on here and got curious, so I ordered the first three off the website (big discount doing that) and two arrived on Wednesday with the third on it's way shortly. I haven't started Twilight yet but hope to shortly, so I still don't know yet if I have made a discovery or a mistake.

I (late 50s) enjoyed the first three (borrowed from the library) and see no reason why they would not appeal to more than just the YA group. Just as young adults can and will read across age levels, so do older adults. I think it depends on the quality of the writing, genre preferences, the maturity of the reader, etc.

I like YA fantasy (and I am not in that age group). I don't like Twilight, though I am vaguely interested in whether the movie might turn out a little better than the book.

I'm 37 and my mom, who also enjoyed the story, is 60. I always let my mom read the books I think she'll enjoy, we have very similar tastes.

I'm 21, and love the Twilight books.

I'm 64 and think the books are great. My 37 year old son, who likes fantasy, also enjoys them.

I'm 23, and I love them.

I'm 30-something ;) and I love the series. My 40-something coworker loves them too!

I'm closer to 30 than 20 and am definitely a fan of the series. :)

31 here. When I first heard of the series, it didn't sound like something I'd enjoy, but I was pleasantly surprised.

my sister is just-turning 13, I'm 24, and my mom is 47, and we're all fans. :)

I'm twenty-four. I loved the first two but was iffy on the third.

I'm 28 and I'm totally obsessed. More than ever, I am conscious of the power of word of mouth. I think of Twilight as an infection that is spreading one reader at a time.

I'm also twenty-four. A friend who loves the series (#14) introduced me to it a year ago and I've loved it ever since. I'm rereading it right now.

I have co-workers who really love this series as well. Two of them are twenty, one is twenty-seven, and another (in her fifties) is about to read the series.

My youngest sister's friends all really love this series as well. Despite their ages causing people to think of them as being merely crazy over a certain character, they really do enjoy discussing the books at length and like to talk to me about it. We've had some good discussions.

OK - I've been sort of following this thread, not recognizing the series you're talking about. I'm always on the look-out for books that we can enjoy as a family - those that appeal to a broad age group. However, you haven't given me enough clues here to identify just which books you are talking about - no titles, no author, no characters, nothing. Anyone willing to divulge the secret? :-)

The series is a YA series by Stephenie Meyer, and so far consists of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and coming in August, Breaking Dawn.

I hopped over to the library's on-line catalog and ordered Twilight on audio - we're taking a driving vacation next month, and we always stock up on audio books for the ride. I hope we get it in time - we're #47 on the wait list.

I have to admit, the synopsis isn't something I'd normally be attracted to, but I'm willing to give just about anything a try once.

I discovered this series this week and have read Twilight and New Moon since Monday -- I can't put these books down. I'm losing sleep. I am so completely entwined in this story! And I am 28 by the way. I'm contemplating whether I should buy the 3rd book now or wait until July so I don't have to wait forever for the 4th one that doesn't come out until the end of August.

I am 29 and love these books. I read all three books in three days and am now certain that I will go crazy before August when Breaking Dawn comes out.

Well i am i used to love the Harry Potter series but now i can't put down the twilight series still begging my mom to get the trird, she is also a fan and is 39, i am only 12.

i know i am rotting without Breaking Dawn, i need to read it!!!

I am in my almost mid 30's (gawd, it kills me to write that!) and I just started it today. So far, I am about 140 pages in and am enjoying it. I am a high school teacher and had at least 20 of my students recommend it.
