Yeah, I just noticed that too with Black Athena - Mary R. Lefkowitz vs. Martin Bernal.

But Lefkowitz' book isn't titled Black Athena. It's Black Athena Revisited
It's Bernal's book that is Black Athena.

I know, but it's still the first one to come up for a "Black Athena" touchstone. Anyway, what's meaningful for this bug report : I tried getting them both in a single post and I couldn't. Well, I could have forced it - like you apparently did - but that's another matter (I think).

Yep - having one letter capitalized differently gets it done properly.
I suspect that there is a check for "same text" to verify that the same touchstone is not added twice on the right when you have legitimate links to the same work in the same comment

This is an interesting one. I'm deferring all such topics generally, because we're redoing touchstones. But THIS part won't, I think, be changed.
The problem is basic to how touchstones work--they substitute links for strings.
Now, anything is possible. We could reengineer a bunch. Maybe it wouldn't even be that hard. But I'm just not convinced this is at all important. How often does one refer to books with exactly the same name within one post?
Incidentally, you can say Mira Grant's Feed and M. T. Anderson's Feed.

Yeah, I wouldn't say this is a high priority, just something to keep in mind in case an easy solution is available. I've never encountered this problem before in years of Talk use.

Update on why this isn't fixed yet (see http://www.librarything.com/topic/107331).
Deferred. We may end up fixing this. Not sure. We discussed it.

No fair - you're not supposed to be the one to do that.

I'm surprised it's a status that members are allowed to set.
14_Zoe_
>13 jjwilson61: I don't think it does any harm--someone else can always reopen it--and it's useful in cases like this. And since Tim has said that he's deferring pretty much all Talk bugs until the new Talk is released, I think we'd even be safe deferring Talk bugs that he hadn't commented on.

I think in general it's not a good idea for non-staff users to set it to Deferred.
But c'mon, it's pretty clear here. It even followed Tim saying it was Deferred. If Tim wants any other rules, he'll have to either bother coding it or actually telling us what to do with bug statuses. The latter is something he has yet to do.

I should have added a smiley to #12. Sorry for the omission.

Testing.

FeeD - hmm. I only get the option for one in this post, even with changing the capitalization of a letter.
