Hi! This bug is related to missing link nams in Male or Female statistic. This might be a duplicate.

I have experienced a dozen of such cases.

Involved links for the example from /topic/120601:

1) /work/2409937/editions
the LT arbirtation assignes the work to Nikolai Krogius

Xolo's book: /work/2409937/details/46436093 I assume that "Recalculate author name" link will not generate a name for missing link name for /author/krogius

2) /work/904360/editions
the LT arbirtation assignes the work to David Spanier

Xolo's book: /work/904360/details/46428845 I assume that "Recalculate author name" link will not generate a name for missing link name for /author/spanier.

Conclusions: "Recalculate author name" should not only recalculate the author name for the author "owning" the work.

If cross author combinations where made the "Recalculate author name" should recalculate the users author as well.

Best regards Reinhardt

Note: These should be sample links. Please do not fix them until stuff did understand and confirm the problem, Thanks in advance!

P.S. Workaround fixing
a) one could add "Canonical names"
b) any listed url in "Male or Female" is known to the system and can be combined (via url syntax) to the relevant author. i.e. The empty author urls are not affected by Some authors can't be combined: This author is no longer in the system

I'm not sure there's a bug here. Books are not works. The works are assigned to Nikolai Krogius and David Spanier. The books were entered with Krogius and Spanier. I can't see the bug.

Both reports /topic/120602 and /topic/120601 date back to July 2011. I fixed all examples I found in my own "Male or female" statistic.

How can we find useful testcases? One needs to examine the "Male or female" statistic for users with many book who where not active for a long time.
Scenario: If empty lines are detected one needs to examine the LT source code. I remember that I was able to identify the affected author url via this method.

Good luck!
