As I said in the other thread, I've been having a lousy week. So what better way to cheer me up than staring at good-looking, sexy men. (I know, I'm shallow, so sue me.)
This is a new thread, since the second part of the old one is about five years old... and has pictures of Heath Ledger, which is painful. :(
Anyway, last night a friend came over and we were watching Steven Moffat's "Jekyll" on DVD. That James Nesbitt is such a sexy man:

P.S.: Will someone (@Choreocrat?) please get me out of my ignorance? James is Irish, but in Jekyll he uses a Scottish accent, right? It's soooooooooo sexy either way, but I want to be sure!

Andrew Lincoln. I'm so sad that The Walking Dead is over and I'll have to wait until next season... :( So in the meantime, he's here in this video speaking about the part in the early days, with his very lovely British accent (not that he doesn't sound sexy speaking like a Southern man in TWD...)
I couldn't decide which picture was better, I know you understand... ;D

Mark Sheppard doesn't get cast all the time *just* because he's a good actor:

#8 - There are a few pretty faces on The Walking Dead. If I were 30 years younger I'd probably have a thing for Glenn - Steven Yeun:

And I've developed quite a bit of respect, and maybe a little bit of a 'thang' for Daryl, AKA Norman Reedus:

Ohh yes! I love Glenn. For me, he's the best character.
I really dislike Shane, such an annoying character, but he's also a sexy man:

Nice, Jim Calviezel is aging well. :) I like to see some gray hair on here, not so fond of oogling boys who might be younger than my sons! :D
27Delirium9
#21 Really? I liked him better *sans* hair... Then again, I think I have a problem: I've noticed lately that I have a trend of liking men with shaved heads/completely bald. Manly men with good bone structure, great noses (#19 has such an imposing nose, doesn't he?), and a shaved head to really make those features stand out. ;D
28clamairy
#27 - I thought the lack of hair brought too much of my attention to those ears... I am not into large ears. I like most bald guys, too. I hate comb-overs and wraps. *shudder*

26 - Is that Pierce Brosnan at the bottom? Wow! He's looking good!
Don't recognize the first guy though. Actually, I don't recognize a lot of the men on this thread. Probably comes of not having cable.

I have kept my eye on Mr. Brosnan since he starred in Remington Steele. Pretty man.

Lee Pace, from Wonderfalls & Pushing Daisies. And I just learned from Wikipedia that he's been cast to play Thranduil in The Hobbit. :D

Doesn't he look like he would be a good James Bond in about ten years?
Tyron Leitso, also from Wonderfalls.

Jake Weber, from Medium.

And the wonderful Tim Roth, from... everything. :p

For some reason, those last two always go together in my mind. Must be because they're both English. They do have a slight resemblance, don't they?
Ah yes... I need to see more pretty faces, it's been a rough couple of days... *sigh*

I haven't seen Jekyll, but Nesbitt is from country Antrim, Northern Ireland, so his native Ulster accent is a lot closer to a Scottish one than to that of the southern counties of Ireland.

I have to say I'm quite fond of Arthur Darvill, a.k.a Rory from Doctor Who. I even named one of my cats after him :)

I should add that a young single friend of mine recently said she had a revelation - she used to be looking for her Doctor, but she suddenly realized that what she really wants in a partner is a Rory - loyal, steadfast, and there when you need him.

#54 He's such a handsome man. And when he dresses up, he's sooooo stylish, isn't he?

The other day a (girl) friend of mine & I went to see Tom Hardy's latest movie -- a romantic comedy thing that it's not usually our style -- just because of the eye candy. It's been a rough month for both, so eye candy is more than welcome...

Chris Pine was also in the movie, although he's just too pretty for my taste... :P

What? Dashing older men in formal wear? OK.

As a hetero male, after looking through these images I must admit that I would be incapable of predicting which men appear attractive to women.
This is good news for those men who think they have no chance of success.

I've realized as I've gotten older (less young? whatever, hey, I'm only 41!), that my "type" is pretty much non-existent. :) I've liked men with hair and without (a man with a shaved head can be super sexy if he has the right bone structure), bearded and beardless, with all shades of eye and hair color, etc.
You know what? I've discovered that it's the personality that attracts me, as much clichéd as that may sound. :P And yes, you can perceive that personality in a photograph... call it confidence, maybe, je-ne-sais-quoi... And as we say here "para los gustos, los colores" (to each their own). ;)

Impressive skills D9. I don't think men can perceive personality from photos of women. We are probably looking for different attributes. This is unfortunate.

I'm a sucker for a man with twinkling eyes. Hairless, hairy, short, tall, lean, rotund, none of that matters if he has twinkling eyes!
Sometimes it works out well, but sometimes it doesn't. That's why I say I'm a "sucker" for twinkling eyes. I simpy cannot resist them.

@darrow I don't know, maybe "personality" is too much of a stretch. @millhold said it better, I guess: "twinkling eyes," that certain something in the picture (the smile, the eyes, the "attitude") besides the good looks.

> Darrow, no one has said it, but I will! I just looked at your profile, and I think - at least from your photo - that you certainly should be called cute (at the very least). Personality does show through, I think.
I do have a physical type that I ordinarily find attractive; but personality outweighs physicality. A man who is built like I like but is a jerk, is far less attractive than a man who has the personality. A wild-card feature for me also, is when someone is really, really good at doing something. That will turn me on, even if he is not particularly attractive. I remember once, I was at an international festival and they had a cultural performance stage. One act was a group exhibiting Flamenco Dance. One of the fellows was - just in terms of looks - actually fairly homely. But he was so fantastic at Flamenco, that by the time the song ended I was practically drooling.
Please, may I request some Ryan Gosling and Matt Smith?

#57 is Richard Armitage in North and South, then yes, Hugh Bonneville with a beard, probably getting ready to play Captain Avery in Dr Who.
My pet theory on attraction is that most of the physical things that might make one attractive, for example, a beard, broad chest, charming smile, etc., are not necessarily the things that will make them attractive per se, but they'll be the things that take someone attractive and make them even more so.
Say you like a man on horseback (not me in this case). You're probably not going to jump any man who gets on the back of a horse. If you do, it's probably going to be classified as a full-blown fetish. But an otherwise attractive man who gets on a horse suddenly jumps a few levels in the "OMGyesplease" stakes. Once they start ticking a few boxes, adding one more is likely to put them over the line.
