I have a feeling there are a few LT husbands who are going to have a nice weekend.

I take it back, Johnny trumps Heath for sheer volume. Love the nerd glasses.

The dressed up look.

And down.

dressed up or down he could come Knocking on my door any day of the week! I wouldn't turn him down!

Now, if he happened to show up dressed as Captain Jack well so much the better.

Also Heath can come and say hello too.

*sits and day dreams*

Sodapop mentioned that we had dissed McDreamy on the earlier thread. Definitely a horrible oversight. How do you girlz like his scruffy look?

OK, crap that didn't work. Let's try this. The scruffy one is #2.

Patrick Dempsey

Orlando Bloom from Elizabeth Town is wonderful, are we all afraid to post him here? Or just lazy like me? I recognize littlegeek's competence and bow to her. :)

12littlegeek
Edited: Jun 30, 2007, 9:57 pm

MrsLee, I hope this is good enough. I'm not sure if it's E-town exactly, but it's close. (btw, I thought that movie sucked, but for some reason I really didn't mind.)

13MrsLee
Jun 30, 2007, 10:01 pm

Thank you, perfect. I thought the movie was a sleeper. It grows on you afterward. I wouldn't mind owning it now.

14littlegeek
Jun 30, 2007, 10:09 pm

You're welcome. I'm willing to do the research on your theory of Elizabethtown.

I've really got it bad. We needed one for this thread.

15littlegeek
Jun 30, 2007, 10:12 pm

I really like when he's all scrufitated. And the problem with E-town is the American accent. I prefer the British, myself.

16littlegeek
Jun 30, 2007, 10:14 pm

I gotta go to a party with my husband and drink mai-tais. You know, anyone can post pictures, it's not hard.

17MrsLee
Jun 30, 2007, 10:16 pm

Oh yes, why anyone wants to go mucking about with a lovely accent...couldn't he have been raised in England or something? Yes, I like him better scrufitated (nice word) than as an elf.

18MrsLee
Jun 30, 2007, 10:17 pm

#16 Hee hee hee, enjoy your hubby and mai tais! Lazy is the operative word here. I'll be better, I promise. :)

19littlegeek

That party was kind of a dud. So anyway, I watched a movie today with a young Russell Crowe, and I was reminded of another reason he's cool. He knits!!!!

8 littlegeek

Hey! I've been trying to find that website for ages, and I couldn't remember the name of it. Thank you :)

Anyway. Please forgive the fact that this is a trading card for a bad movie (it was the best picture of him I could find):

23bluesalamanders
Jul 1, 2007, 8:50 am

MrsLee - well, we're not selling or altering these images, or claiming them as our own work. Or distributing them in such a way that they would cause the owners or subjects to lose sales of...anything. So, I don't think it is an issue, is it?

24MrsLee
Jul 1, 2007, 12:18 pm

I dunno, I get very confused about the whole thing. *shrug* I guess if we ever get told to remove/stop, whatever, we will. Until then, isn't it lovely? I don't know the name of Dr. Victor Von Doom though, and isn't it a shame those movies couldn't have been better?

25bluesalamanders
Jul 1, 2007, 12:25 pm

MrsLee - Ah, yes, that is the handsome Julian Mcmahon (or something along those lines). And yes, it is a shame how awful the movies are...although I'm planning to go see the second one, anyway. Mindless fun (at least, I hope it's fun...).

I'm pretty sure there's nothing we need to worry about. Although I wish people would put pictures onto photobucket or something instead of hotlinking and stealing bandwidth.

26MrsLee
Jul 1, 2007, 12:34 pm

"Although I wish people would put pictures onto photobucket or something instead of hotlinking and stealing bandwidth."

Does not compute, does not compute. I just figured out how to post an image here, and now you want me to jump another learning curve? You young people are never satisfied! :)

27littlegeek
Jul 1, 2007, 1:14 pm

MrsLee, great pic of Antonio! I love the drippy ones.

My feeling about bandwidth is, if you're going to have pictures of movie stars on your website, you gotta expect hotlinking. If you develop a problem, get a Spanish penguin.

As for copyright, there are no IP police, so the "owners" have to come after you and tell you to stop. If anyone real posts a cease & desist order, we just take the pictures down.

Busifer, I know you don't like Roger, but how do you feel about the following tennis hotties?

And historically....

Even Martina thought he was hot...

We always called him "lovely Stephan," and not just for his backhand halfvolley.

28bluesalamanders
Jul 1, 2007, 1:28 pm

littlegeek -

My feeling about bandwidth is, if you're going to have pictures of movie stars on your website, you gotta expect hotlinking.

Just because people do it, that's supposed to mean it's right?

29littlegeek
Edited: Jul 1, 2007, 1:48 pm

Sorry, but I can't get my ethical knickers in a twist about bandwidth. Hotlinking is the whole idea of the internet! If you're going to post something provocative, get a more powerful server or something to block the linking.

30bluesalamanders
Jul 1, 2007, 1:50 pm

I would agree that linking may be the idea of the internet, but hotlinking images? Not so much.

31littlegeek
Jul 1, 2007, 1:52 pm

Those websites that cannot handle our hotlinking have been linked-to (see Patrick Dempsey above). I still don't see it as a moral dilemna.

Ah, and I see Orlando as a brunette (beautiful) but what did the LT ladies think of him as a blonde?

MrsLee was an excellent teacher!! I made one boo boo, wound up with the dreaded red x but it didn't take long to find my mistake. Thanks for helping me to get him posted MrsLee.

I won't torture you all by putting "my" other pretty boy up as most people seem to look at me as though I've grown an extra head when I mention him... Apolo Ohno. Sigh again. We'll call him my honorable mention "pretty boy".

I could spend all day gazing at this thread, but I suppose I should go make that chocolate/mocha cake. But ~ but look at Johnny and Orlando and Hugh and Peter and Antonio and.... sigh....

Watching the marathon today. Rod Serling said (Probably not his own thought): "Science fiction is the improbable made possible, Fantasy is the impossible made probable."

Did we have that quote already on that long lost thread about the difference? Wait a minute, I think that set off a huge debate about what is improbable or impossible, etc. Never mind.

56cad_lib

#50, Rosie. GDR = Grinning, ducking and running, as in escaping a retort! I learned it from the same old circles (old compuserve programmers forums) that used LOL. But even better: LMAO and ROTFLMAO (laughing my arse off and rolling on the floor LMAO).

As for Apolo Ohno: the Olympic speedskater and now celebrity champion dancer: I can see that girls would find him attractive. He is a great athlete too.

cad_lib - Ah, grinning, ducking, running! How did I miss that? In all the years I've visited discussion boards, you'd think I'd have figured that out.

Apolo: Yes, quite the competitor isn't he? Had an opportunity to attend a World Cup in 2003. Wonderful experience! It's a thrilling sport to watch. Beautiful, graceful yet keeps you on the edge of your seat!

78Sodapop
Jul 11, 2007, 11:18 pm

That's Jason Isaacs, little. He was also Capt Hook in the 2003 live action version of Peter Pan and the really nasty, arrogant British general in The Patriot. He seems to have made a career out of playing the villian.

I don't get the Shaun White thing either. I think he is FUUUUUUUUUGLY.

82clamairy
Jul 12, 2007, 7:57 am

#80 & #81 - Looks an awful lot like Carrot Top to me. I don't think he's ugly, he just doesn't ring my bells. Neither does Rupert Grint. But I think the guys who play Rupert's older twin brothers are maturing nicely. ;o)

83littlebookworm
Edited: Jul 12, 2007, 8:26 am

I have to admit I don't understand the Shaun White thing either, he is not attractive to me. The Carrot Top comparison just made it worse.

Then again, I'm very picky when it comes to eye candy ...

Speaking of Harry Potter, does anyone remember this guy? Back when the first HP came out, all my friends and I thought he was SO hot.

Anyone agree? And does anyone recognize him as Oliver Wood? He's aged well. =)

84clamairy
Jul 12, 2007, 8:56 am

Ah yes, he is cute! A tad young for me, though. ;o) I love watching these movies with my daughter, who'll be 16 soon. Our tastes are quite similar!

85ExVivre

86littlegeek
Jul 12, 2007, 10:41 am

Redhead love is a funny thing. Either you have it or you don't. I think I have acquired the bug through prolonged attachment to a redhead.

My husband says he can always spot those afflicted. They have a kind of glaze over their eyes when they see all that orange hair.

87Morphidae
Jul 12, 2007, 10:44 am

I've been married for 17 years to a red head with a full red beard and moustache. And I still think Shaun's uglier than sin. Rupert isn't much better.

:D

And anyone but me kind of creeped out by the near-porn pose of Daniel? Yeah, he looks pretty hot, but he's like 12. (Okay, 17, but still.)

88littlegeek
Jul 12, 2007, 10:47 am

Morphy, it is skirting the line, I grant you. But he wants to be taken seriously as an adult actor, or why do Equus? That makes me feel less creepy about it.

89Rosie89
Jul 13, 2007, 10:17 am

**Oooh oooh, hand waving** Weighing in on the Shawn White thing... in my case it's not his looks. He's not exactly my thing physically, but adored his fun loving, humble and loving attitude during the Olympics. He won me over when he ran to the sidelines to give his family big hugs. :) I'm a goober.

Nice pics posted since I last checked in! Loving the JD pics! Don't know the others, but they look good. :p

91cad_lib
Edited: Jul 19, 2007, 8:09 am

#90 AtlantisGirl, here's how. You need to have the exact URL of the picutre/graphic on the web. Typically it ends in .jpg. This is then put inside angle brackets (less than, greater than signs) and some double quotes and key words.

My flikr account has a photo of my dog, right click on the picture of the dog, click properties and highlight/copy the location or URL. This gives me:
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1079/652693028_b2d62d129f.jpg

Now the extras:

The reason you see all that text inside the angle brackets is because an extra space after the cause the text to show rather than the graphic. The next post will take out the spaces and show you Blue Mountain Moppet, the most beautiful English Setter in PA, if not the whole USA.

Is it wrong of me to bump up this thread?

Not wrong at all! I wasn't able to be on Talk much this summer, so I totally missed it the first go-round. Nice morning's browsing, even if I looked at some of the pictures and went "Whaaaa?"

I decided to add to this thread as well as the women we love thread :)

Michael Weatherley = yum...

Although he's taught me something about how I watch TV, I very much see the characters rather than the actors (which i guess is how its meant to be), because I dont find him very pretty in NCIS, but I drool over him in dark angel... I think Tony's sleeze factor in NCIS makes me think of him as not quite as cute, but Logan's whole character is very sexy methinx :)

May I tell you ladies, that I just watched "The Man Who Cried" - and -

Heaven help us, Johnny on a horse....

Yowza.

Actually, no, wait. That one's a double yowza.

So it is with that pleasant thought that I bid you girls a good night.

I had a huge crush on Rimmer. So I seriously won't be judging you.

Also, Hugh Laurie. He's MINE. Have loved him since BLACKADDER.

And right now I have a big wonky Neil Gaiman crush.

But, as some of you may know, the love of my life...

Also have big girl crush on Alan Rickman, David Tennant, Christopher Eccleston, and quite a few more too embarrassing to add.

Feb 9, 2008, 5:32 pm

Ditto, ellevee. Alan Rickman is HOT in that super-British way! I just saw him in Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet. WOW. He's even wonderful as Severus Snape, even though I hate that character.
Also who's the guy that plays Captain Jack on Torchwood. He's too cute.

Captain Jack is HOT. Love him.

Aww, I LOVE Snape. From book 1, I thought, 'He's brilliant, he's sarcastic, he's a loner, and everyone hates/fears him. Sign me up!'

And my friend somehow ended up owning four copies of Sense and Sensibility, because she kept getting worried she would lose one. But she has an Alan problem. We're looking into support groups.

149fyrefly98
Feb 11, 2008, 2:10 pm

>148 estarriol:

The HTML code is:

<img src="IMAGE ADDRESS">

where the address starts with http:// and ends with .jpg (or .gif or whatever) - you can usually find this by right-clicking on the picture and choosing "Copy Image Location" or something.

If it's big and you want to shrink it, the code is:

<img src="IMAGE ADDRESS" height="PIXELS" width="PIXELS">

If you use only one or the other (height or width), it'll scale the picture appropriately. 300-400 pixels in the longer dimension is usually about right for this kind of thread.

Yes, definitely on Hugh Dancy. I just saw a movie called Evening that he was in. It was pretty good and he was adorable. Not so much the love interest, though.

I also agree on Alan Rickman. His Colonel Brandon is my favorite- and that's saying something because I generally don't sympathize with the doormats/piners in stories.

Here is the lovely Daniel Bruhl. For some reason photos just don't do him justice. See Goodbye, Lenin!

Edited: Feb 11, 2008, 10:11 pm

>152 frogbelly: I saw Evening recently as well - I've been on a Hugh Dancy kick - but was underwhelmed. A lot of talented actors, not a whole lot of plot. I've heard the book's good but it didn't adapt well for the screen at all.

Not so much the love interest, though.

Oh, I dunno, I don't think Patrick Wilson's particularly hard on the eyes:

Also highly agreed on Daniel Bruhl - I've got two of his movies on my Netflix Queue. :)

ETA: I just realized - I think someone photoshopped Kate Winslet's face out of that picture (the blurry area on his shoulder) so now he's just got a disembodied arm over his shoulder. Creepy.

154frogbelly
Edited: Feb 11, 2008, 10:16 pm

Oops, I didn't write that very well. I meant that Hugh Dancy wasn't really the love interest in the story. Yes, Mr. Wilson was quite nice to look at. I prefer dark haired men for the most part, though.

I can see where Evening would have been better in print. I'll bet there was a lot of inner monologue from main character that just didn't translate to film.

Ladies, how about Colin Firth? Wasn't he just wonderful in "Bridget Jones' Diary"? Also in "The Last Legion".
BTW did you know that his character, Mark Darcy, in "Bridget Jones'" was based on Jane Austen's "Mr. Darcy" character? The name, I mean.
