One dark night outside a small town in Minnesota, a fire started inside the local chemical plant and in a blink of an eye it exploded into massive flames. The alarm went out to all the fire departments for miles around.

When the volunteer fire fighters appeared on the scene, the chemical company president rushed to the fire chief and said, "All our secret formulas are in the vault in the center of the plant. They must be saved. I will give $50,000 to the fire department that brings them out intact."

But the roaring flames held the firefighters off. Soon more fire departments had to be called in as the situation became desperate. As the firemen arrived, the president shouted out that the offer was now $100,000 to the fire department who could bring out the company's secret files.

From the distance, a lone siren was heard as another fire truck came into sight. It was the nearby Norwegian rural township volunteer fire company composed mainly of Norwegians over the age of 65.

To everyone's amazement, that little run-down fire engine roared right past all the newer sleek engines that were parked outside the plant.

Without even slowing down it drove straight into the middle of the inferno. Outside, the other firemen watched as the Norwegian old timers jumped off right in the middle of the fire fought it back on all sides. It was a performance and effort never seen before.

Within a short time, the Norske old timers had extinguished the fire and had saved the secret formulas. The grateful chemical company president announced that for such a superhuman feat he was upping the reward to $200,000, and walked over to personally thank each of the brave fire fighters.

The local TV news reporter rushed in to capture the event on film, asking their chief, "What are you going to do with all that money?"

"Vell," said Ole Larsen, the 70-year-old fire chief, "Da first thing ve gonna do is fix da brakes on dat damn truck!

I have this on my 75ers thread and was told to put it here as well...

A cabbie picks up a Nun. She gets into the cab, and the cab driver won't stop staring at her.

She asks him why he is staring. He replies, "I have a question to ask you, but I don't want to offend you."

She answers, "My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive."

"Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me."

She responds, "Well, let's see what we can do about that: #1, you have to be single and #2, you must be Catholic."

The cab driver is very excited and says, "Yes, I'm single and Catholic!"

"Okay," the nun says, "Pull into the next alley." The nun fulfills his fantasy with a kiss that would make a hooker blush. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying.

"My dear child," said the nun, "why are you crying?"

"Forgive me but I've sinned. I lied I must confess. I'm married and I'm Jewish."

The nun says, "That's okay, my name is Kevin and I'm going to a Halloween party."

Jake was dying. His wife sat at the bedside.

He looked up and said weakly: ‘I have something I must confess.’

‘There’s no need to, ‘his wife replied.

‘No,’ he insisted, ‘I want to die in peace. I slept with your sister, your best friend, her best friend, and your mother!’

‘I know,’ she replied. ‘Now just lie back and let the poison work.’

I was at the local county fair last week and midst the midway booths was the local political party handing out balloons to the kiddies.

As I was passing, the volunteers were giving balloons to the toddler members of a family. They offered one to the preteen behind a stroller, but she said that she didn't want one. One of the adults commented that maybe she didn't want one because she was "too old" to want a balloon.

As I walked by, I quipped, "Maybe she's a democrat."

A man answered a knock at the door. It was a 6-foot tall ladybug, who felled him with a blow to the jaw, and then jumped up and down on him, breaking several ribs ... He woke up in hospital, and had some difficulty in explaining to the doctor what happened. Eventually light dawned.
"You're the sixth one to come in like that this morning," said the doctor, "there's a very nasty bug going round."

One day, three men were out hiking in unfamiliar territory and came upon a wide and raging river. They needed to get to the other side, but it looked impossible to ford, and they had no idea of how they would do it.

Fortuitously, they spotted a genie napping on a rock near the river. They crept quietly to where the genie was napping and grabbed him before he could escape. Since all three had captured him, the genie agreed to grant each man one wish.

The first man wished: “Please give me the strength to cross this river.” Poof! The genie gave him big strong arms and legs and he was able to swim across the river—though it took him two hours to do it.

Seeing this, the second man wished: “Please give me the strength and ability to cross this river.” Poof! The genie gave him a rowboat and he was able to row across the river—though it took him three hours to do it.

The third man, having observed how this had worked out for his two hiking buddies, wished: “Please give me the strength, ability and intelligence to cross this river. ” Poof! The genie turned him into a woman. He looked at the trail map and, a minute later, walked across the bridge.

An attractive young woman with an armload of Christmas boxes and bags was waiting for the local bus on the street outside of her most recently visited store. As she stood there she realized the skirt she was wearing was too tight and it would be impossible for her to make that first step up into the bus. She thought about it for a bit and then decided that if she could just reach around and unzip her skirt part way it would probably give her enough freedom of movement to step into the bus. She carefully juggled all of the boxes and bags in/on one arm and the quickly reached around and pulled down the zipper. Once she had her purchases rebalanced she moved around a bit and realized the skirt was still too tight.

Thinking that an additional loosening might work she quickly repeated the purchase juggling/zipper pulling move, shifted around some more and realized it was still too tight. Just then the bus came around the corner, pulled up in front of her and opened the door. Before she could do anything the man standing behind her put his hands under her arms and quickly lifted her to the top step of the bus. She turned around, gave him a startled and angry look and stammered, “ How…how dare you! Why we don’t even know each other!” He smiled, tipped his hat, and said, “Madam, after you pulled my zipper down the second time I thought we were pretty well acquainted.”

Remembering that it's peak season in our holiday-resort town ...

There's a couple who walk every day on the beach. And every day they see a shapely blonde doing the rounds talking to the holidaymakers. Sometimes money changes hands, and they see her handing something over.

What could it be? Drugs? Surely it's their civic duty to find out. So they make a plan.

Next day he goes to stake the beach out. And settles down with umbrella, towel and radio. Before too long, the blonde turns up.

He returns home. "I've got her secret! She's a battery seller!"

A truck driver pulls into a truck stop to get some lunch. As he approaches the establishment he sees a notice posted on the door which states “Nerds will be shot on sight.” He walks into the diner, sits down on one of the stools and starts to ask about the sign when the nerdiest guy he has ever seen, plaid shirt, striped pants, taped glasses, pocket protector, half a dozen electronic items hanging from his belt, walks through the door. Without so much as a by-your-leave the counterman pulls out a shotgun and blows the nerd away. The truck driver is shocked and stunned and in a halting, stammering voice he asks the counterman what is going on. The counterman tells him that the nerd population in the area has exploded and in the interests of returning things to normal open season has been declared on nerds.

The truck driver regains his composure and orders some lunch. The counterman brings him a beer and a sandwich and as he sets it down in front of the driver he comments that the driver seems to smell a bit nerdy himself. The driver says it’s not him it’s his cargo – he has a truck full of laptop computers. The counterman nods and says that’s ok. The driver finishes his lunch and goes back out to his truck. He gets back out on the highway, gets his truck up to speed and just as he is rolling along a car cuts sharply in front of him. He swerves violently to avoid a collision and in doing so the rear doors of the truck fly open and his cargo of laptops tumbles out and is strewn all over the road. Before he can come to a stop hundreds of nerds explode out of the roadside grass and tree line and start grabbing the laptops and running. The driver gets out of his cab, yells at them to stop, and then, remembering what the counterman said, rushes back to his truck, grabs his handgun and starts shooting at the nerds. He’s only taken a few shots when a police car zooms up, the officer piles out of the car and runs toward the truck driver yelling for him to stop. The driver, puzzled, stops shooting and says, “I thought it was open season on nerds around here?” The policeman says, “Well, sure, but you can’t bait them!”

OK, it's not a "joke" as one normally thinks of them, but it does have a "punch line" of sorts. Since we can't embed videos, (and this wouldn't translate well to text) you'll have to make with the clicky. (It's a Cheech and Chong bit.)

A hobbit was terribly overweight, so her doctor put her on a diet. "I want
you to eat regularly for 2 days, then skip a day, and repeat this procedure
for 2 weeks. The next time I see you, you’ll have lost at least 5 pounds."
When the hobbit returned, she shocked the doctor by losing nearly 20 pounds.
"Why, that’s amazing!" the doctor said, "Did you follow my instructions?"
The hobbit nodded. "I’ll tell you though, I thought I was going to drop dead that 3rd day."
"from hunger you mean?"
"No from skipping."

A Texas State trooper pulled a car over on I-35 about 2 miles south of Waco Texas. When the trooper asked the driver why he was speeding, the driver said he was a Magician and Juggler and was on his way to Austin Texas to do a show for the Shrine Circus. He didn't want to be late.

The trooper told the driver he was fascinated by juggling and said if the driver would do a little juggling for him then he wouldn't give him a ticket. He told the trooper he had sent his equipment ahead and didn't have anything to juggle.

The trooper said he had some flares in the trunk and asked if he could juggle them. The juggler said he could, so the trooper got 5 flares, lit them and handed them to him.

While the man was juggling, a car pulled in behind the State Troopers car. A drunken good old boy from central Texas got out, watched the performance, then went over to the Trooper's car, opened the rear door and got in. The trooper observed him and went over to the State car, opened the door asking the drunk what he thought he was doing.

The drunk replied, “You might as well take my ass to jail, cause there ain't no way I can pass that test.”

He was a widower and she a widow. They had known each other for a number of years being high school classmates and having attended class reunions in the past without fail.

This 60th anniversary of their class, the widower and the widow made a foursome with two other singles. They had a wonderful evening, their spirits high. The widower threw admiring glances across the table; the widow smiled
coyly back at him.

Finally, he found the courage to ask her, "Will you marry me?" After about six seconds of careful consideration, she answered, "Yes,..... yes I will!"

The evening ended on a happy note for the widower. But the next morning he was troubled. Did she say “Yes” or did she say “No?” He couldn't remember. Try as he would, he just could not recall. He went over the conversation of the previous evening, but his mind was blank. He remembered asking the question but for the life of him he could not
recall her response. With fear and trepidation he picked up the phone and called her.

First, he explained that he couldn't remember as well as he used to. Then he reviewed the past evening. As he gained a little more courage he then inquired of her. "When I asked if you would marry me, did you say “Yes” or did you say “No?”

"Why you silly man, I said ‘Yes. Yes I will.’ And I meant it with all my heart." The widower was delighted. He felt his heart skip a beat. Then she continued. "And I am so glad you called because I couldn't remember who asked me!”

Seen while browsing Reddit:

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were at the bar drinking, when in walks a cowboy who yells, "Who's white horse is that outside?"

The Lone Ranger finishes off his whiskey, slams down the glass, turns around and says, "It's my horse. Why do you want to know?"

The cowboy looks at him and says, "Well, your horse is standing out there in the sun and he don't look too good."

The Lone Ranger and Tonto run outside and they see that Silver is in bad shape, suffering from heat exhaustion. The Loan Ranger moves his horse into the shade and gets a bucket of water. He then pours some of the water over the horse and gives the rest to Silver to drink. It is then he notices that there isn't a breeze so he asks Tonto if he would start running around Silver to get some air flowing and perhaps cool him down.

Being a faithful friend, Tonto starts running around Silver. The Lone Ranger stands there for a bit then realizes there is not much more he can do, so he goes back into the bar and orders another whiskey.

After a bit a cowboy walks in and says, "Who's white horse is that outside?"

Slowly the Lone Ranger turns around and says, "That is my horse, what is wrong with him now?"

"Nothing," replies the cowboy, "I just wanted to let you know that you left your Injun running."

How to call the Police

Phillip Hewitson, an elderly man, from Norwich UK, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"

He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.

Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."

George said, "Okay."

He hung up the phone and counted to 30.

Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed.. Well you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." and he hung up.

Within five minutes, Six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Hewitson`s' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to Phillip, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

Phillip said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

A couple go for a meal at a Chinese restaurant, and order the 'Chicken Surprise'. The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast iron pot. Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around, before the lid slams back down.

'Good grief, did you see that?' she asks her husband. He hadn't, so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and again the lid rises and he sees two little eyes, looking around before it slams down.

Rather perturbed, he calls the waiter over, explains what is happening, and demands an explanation.

'Please sir,' says the waiter, 'what did you order?'

The husband replies, 'Chicken Surprise'

'Ah! So sorry,' says the waiter, 'I bring you Peeking Duck by mistake'.......

Another chicken story.....

I was driving up the motorway at 70 mph when I was passed by a running chicken - must have been doing at least 80. It was hard to be sure but I could have sworn that it had three legs. I had to follow it, of course, so I put my foot down. At the next exit the bird stuck out its left wing and shot up the slip road. I kept after it along a country road for a while until it put out its right wing and ran into a farmyard to join a small flock of - yes! - three-legged chickens.

Really curious now, I knocked on the door of the farmhouse. The farmer came to the door chewing on a straw the way farmers do and asked what I wanted. I told him about my chase after his speedy chicken. "I've never seen anything like it in my life", I said. "Aaarh! They be unusual birds", he replied, "Bred 'em myself, I did". "How come they have three legs?" I asked. "That's easy. When we has a bird on Sundays I like a leg, me wife likes a leg and me son likes a leg so I bred a three-legged fowl".

"Wow!" I exclaimed, "What do they taste like?"

"Dunno - ain't managed to catch one of the buggers yet!"

Talking about three legged animals...

A tourist from the city passed a farmhouse and saw a pig with a wooden leg. He went to the farmer and asked him about the pig.

The farmer said, "Oh, this is a great pig! There's no pig like him anywhere! Once, when I was plowing a field, the tractor tipped over and pinned my leg to the ground. This pig saw me and went to the house to get my wife. He saved my life!

"Another time, my wife and I were asleep in the house when a fire started. This pig woke us up and got us out of the house before it burned down. He saved me again! He's a wonderful pig!"

"But you didn't tell us how he got the wooden leg," said the tourist.

"Oh," said the farmer, "a pig like that, you don't eat all at once!"

An old married couple no sooner hit the pillows when the old man passes gas and says, 'Seven Points.'

His wife rolls over and says, 'What in the world was that?' The old man replied, 'its fart football.'

A few minutes later his wife lets one go and says, 'Touchdown, tie score...'

After about five minutes the old man lets another one go and says, 'Aha. I'm ahead 14 to 7.'

Not to be outdone the wife rips out another one and says, 'Touchdown, tie score.'

Five seconds go by and she lets out a little squeaker and says, 'Field goal, I lead 17 to 14.' Now the pressure is on for the old man.

He refuses to get beaten by a woman, so he strains real hard.

Since defeat is totally unacceptable, he gives it everything he's got, and accidentally poops in the bed.

The wife says, 'What the hell was that?'

The old man says, 'Half time, switch sides

A man and his wife are awakened at 3 o'clock in the morning by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger standing in a pouring down rain is asking for a push. "Not a chance" says the husband - "It's three o'clock in the morning!" He slams the door and returns to bed.

"Who was it?" asks his wife. "Just a drunken stranger asking for a push" he answers. "Did you help him?" she asks. "No, I didn't - it's three in the morning and raining like mad out there!"

"Well you've got a short memory" says his wife. "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down on the freeway and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him."

The man does as he is told and gets dressed and goes out into the pounding rain and calls out into the dark.

"Hello - are you still there?" "Yes," comes the answer. "Do you still want a push?" calls out the husband. "Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark. "Where are you?" asks the husband. "Over here, on the swing" the drunk replies.

A middle-aged woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table, she had a near death experience. Seeing God, she asked, "Is my time up?" God said, "No, you have another 43 years, two months and eight days to live."

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a facelift, liposuction and tummy tuck. Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well look fab.

Following her final cosmetic operation, she was released from the hospital. While crossing the street on her way home, she was struck and killed by an ambulance. Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 40 years? Why didn't you pull me out of the path of that ambulance?" God replied, "Girl, I didn't recognize you!"
