They are in order first by date order of when we made the lists, then alphabetical order by author's last name. If you have a reason to switch books within lists, let me know. I most likely won't be changing the list order though (fantasy, science fiction, mystery, nonfiction) unless it's within the same four month period.

Looking forward to reading some of these - I have three lined up already (May, June and October) and will make a note of the others and slip it in my handbag to see if I can locate copies of any of the others.

I'm going to see if I can join the fantasy and SF ones. I might not reread, but I can always join the discussion!

I'll probably participate in about half of them. Nice selection!

I'm in for most of them if the library can keep up!

Great selection, I'll try to join in on some of them.

Damn - this seems really hard to get hold of here in the UK. It sounds fascinating, but I'm reliant on a 2nd hand store shipping it from the US so I suspect I'm going to miss this month by the time it gets here :(

It is available as an ebook, imyril. Do you have an ereader or some other device to read ebooks from? Unfortunately, Nina Kiriki Hoffman's books are not always easy to find...

>11 zjakkelien: aha! I can't find it on Amazon, but I'm happy to go elsewhere - I'll get my searching hat on. Thank you :)

>11 zjakkelien: - sadly US ebooks aren't always available in the UK. It's stupid from a customers point of view. But they're governed by different publishing contract rights and depends on the individual agreements and territories. And while it's possible to buy a US physical book and ship it - because that counts as a US sale - it's not for the ebook which is counted as a local sale. I don't know why. It drives me nuts sometimes.

>11 zjakkelien: >13 reading_fox: it seems to be available in the US and in Europe, but not in the UK. So I can buy from bol.com and download a BOL reader on my phone (or try to - if their sales are fully regional, they'll refuse a UK-registered credit card - which is how Amazon stop me buying in the US). I'll give it a go :)

I wasn't expecting it to be this hard to get a book. Sorry!

>14 imyril: Like you, I've not been able to track down a copy except with the "2-3 week" wait from Amazon which is always a few extra days here, so while I'm sad to not be able to join in this month, I'm considering this a win (seeing the bright side of all I can :D) - I don't need to add anything to the TBR pile! In actual fact the first one I know I can get without having to visit Amazon is March's Study in Scarlet.

>15 Morphidae: not to worry - as @Peace2 says, we can get it eventually via snail mail and I'm going to check in Forbidden Planet tomorrow as they sometimes get in US books. I don't mind reading behind the curve :)

I take it as a win when you choose a book i don't know and I want to read it this much!

Can I just check with anyone who might know the answer to this question?

I 'amazoned' (as opposed to googled that is) 1491 and two books came up with slightly different titles 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus and 1491: The Americas Before Columbus (touchstone here goes to the same book). The two have slightly different blurbs and slightly different publishing dates (a couple of months apart). Are they the same book? Would it matter which one I picked up if the chance arises? Funnily enough I thought I was in luck on Friday on a trip to the charity shop then realised the book I had in my hand was 1493! Only just missed the date, but it was in a very sorry condition so I left it there and refused to be tempted.

The Charles Mann book is the one you want. I don't know if there are different editions or any substantive difference between them if there is. The copy I have has the big long Revelations tagline. It's a hardcover, 6th printing from Knopf.

>14 imyril: How about kobo? Ah, but it would be an pub, though. Since you're mentioning amazon, you probably have a kindle?

>19 Bookmarque: Both titles were by Charles Mann which was why I was so confused as to whether they were actually the same book or not.

>20 zjakkelien: yep, 'fraid so (although Kobo UK don't have it. It seems not to have published in the UK for some rights-negotiation reasons presumably). But, I'm in Aus and the US later this year, so I might pick it up second-hand and read along very late like I did with The Cloud Roads :)

Morphy, Amazon seems to be listing two editions of the same title. The subtitles are the same but on Amazon, the main title reads 1491 (Second Edition). The thing is further complicated because both show the same publication date. Transparent as mud...

I'm not sure what to say. There are two versions - one's a tenth anniversary version. There are also other books with the same title by different authors.
