>1 gilroy: Don't worry, once you get to the purchase page it's actually pay-what-you-want.

What I love is, this is an April Fools joke on top of a real product—the Amazon Dash—which everyone thinks is an April Fool's joke. :)

Amazon has announced a great new program to help independent booksellers.

I still can't find the joke. Unless the first post here is the joke, and there really isn't a joke post (either on the blog or Talk) from Tim at all.

I want one! Do they ship world wide?

Vampire Smut is fabulous, I'm so relieved LT is able to discern my reading cravings without my having to publicly document that anywhere.

if only this were real...

Ah. I don't use Twitter. I looked on my home page and didn't see anything, but I didn't dig through every module on every sub-page, so I may have missed it somewhere.

I want this! Oh, well.
My local public library has offered to donate 100,000 hardcover books to the city, to help prop up a damaged bridge.

Tim, you are not very nice to tease us like that!
I was just digging out my credit card, too! ;)

The little Amazon Dash buttons stuck everywhere are AWFUL but the barcode scanner thingy is pretty cool. A small, wireless barcode scanner would be handy but not in the way Amazon wants us to use it.

So. Who's going to make a template for a papercraft version of the LT emdash?
I want one on my bookshelf now, even if it doesn't really do anything!
Sorry anglemark, I know this won't solve your wife's issue. ;)

Huh, 'cause of this joke I've found out that if I make the browser window too small (on Chrome) the news on the home page disappears. huh...
Funny April Fool's though.... :)

>24 DanieXJ: That's by design. As the browser gets smaller there are various elements that are removed or changed to make way for the main content.
The top LT words also change to our icon, tabs get smaller, etc.

>23 Sylak: I could probably figure out a way to make that available. Let me look into it.

I shared the post on Facebook and one of my friends said she is going to wait for the new and improved LT Dash button that sends her favorite snack along with a great book to read.
I love the line when referring to the algorithm, "How do we know? We just do!" :D

That's a bit of an annoyance to me actually. To keep other sites I frequent readable, I keep the browser window narrow enough that I never see the LT news. I guess having the news also as a module would be too much to ask for?

Ah. That explains it, I was on a laptop, and even a 15" laptop screen like this one is tiny by most standards.
