Zohar's 2017 Challenge and reviews

Hello,

I have done this challenge in the previous years, I'm finding that it's more and more difficult to read as I get busier and busier, but this challenge motivates me to keep on reading.

The challenge I found last year is to find interesting books, I have started several books I didn't finish unfortunately. My taste is changing, and I'm also reading longer books - so 75 is certainly a challenge.

I also record my thoughts on my bookish blog http://www.ManOfLaBook.com

Reading taste and habit can change, so good luck on your challenge.
Happy reading in 2017!

Welcome back! I understand about life's busy-ness taking away reading time!

I have The One-Cent Magenta on my stack to read - how was it?

The One-Cent Magenta was very good, I really enjoyed it.

>9 ZoharLaor: I've been a Bone fan for years! Jeff Smith used to write/draw a comic for The Ohio State University paper when I was there called Thorn which was a precursor to Bone!

>10 rretzler: rretzler - I'm a comic book fan as well. I've heard about Bone for years. My son took out the graphic novels from school so I read it over the weekend. A great book.

>11 ZoharLaor: How old is your son? I have a 15 yo son, who reads mostly sci-fi and fantasy, and a 12 yo son, who also loves graphic novels. He loves the Bone series too. Has your son (or you) read the Amulet series by Kazu Kibuishi? I haven't read them yet, but my 12 yo raves about the series!

I haven't read the Ms Marvel's yet, but I've heard good things.

>12 rretzler: rretzler - my son is 10 years old and getting him to read is like pulling teeth. He just doesn't like to but does great on all his reading tests. Honestly, I don't even think he read the books - too bad. I only found them a few days before he had to return them to the library.
Thanks for the recommendations, I'll keep them in mind.

>13 ZoharLaor: My 12 yo is the same. He hates to read, even though we have read together every night for probably his first ten years, and quite a bit since then. He loves graphic novels, though. My older son didn't like to read until he was in 3rd grade - then we found a bunch of really humorous authors for 8-11-year-old boys, and ever since then, he has been a reader!

It is that time of year again, between Solstice and Christmas, just after Hanukkah, when our thoughts turn to wishing each other well in whatever language or image is meaningful to the recipient. So, whether I wish you Happy Solstice or Merry Christmas, know that what I really wish you, and for you, is this:
