I just created a Google document making it a bit easier for us to see who has added what to each challenge. If some of you who have Google accounts want to edit it, send me a private message. I'd be delighted to have help keeping up with additions people make to the scratch pad.

Wow! I should have thought of that.

Any chance you'd like to move this document to our new wiki page whenever it goes up! *asks hopefully*

I think I've managed to get things added to the Google Docs page. If you went back and edited your earlier entry, I may have missed something you added or deleted. Let me (or one of our other editors) know.

I added The Holy Bible, New King James Version to challenge 8. I'm glad Carrie remembered several of us will be completing year-long Bible reads this month. I marked it as a shared read even though the version is different.

>50 Dejah_Thoris: Yes. I knew there would be times I would not be able to edit so I was hoping lots of folks would offer to help keep up! Thanks!

I think we are all caught up from above.

I added and marked completed The Dead in Their Vaulted Arches by Alan Bradley to challenge 12.

Thank you so much Lori, Dejah and all the helpers for keeping us updated. I love looking at the Google document and seeing how the challenges are shaping up.

Ugh! I can't find a book I like enough to read. I'll try again.

Please delete The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and add The boy Who Harnessed the wind by William KamKwamba to Challenge #1 for me. Thank you so much!

I also marked An Avalon Christmas by Darien Gee in challenge 4 completed for me.

Edited: Dec 5, 2017, 8:37 pm

Thank you. I might end up not reading that book either, but I'll hold off on making any more changes for now. I just can't find a book that grabs me. I wanted to fit one in my own challenge, but that doesn't seem to be happening.

*looks through piles of books for anything that will grab me now*

>60 SqueakyChu: If I had not found a place for it in another challenge, I was going to ask if "the" could be embedded in one of the words. (e.g. The Dead in Their Vaulted Arches). It fit in the one with the consecutive author letters though.

Edited: Dec 5, 2017, 10:04 pm

>61 thornton37814:. Let’s just stick to the word “the” (not embedded) since you found another challenge for your book.

Please substitute In The Country of The Young by Lisa Carey in place of The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind. This is the last change for challenge #1. I promise. :)

Add to 9. Read a book with a one word title
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.

It is the 200th anniversary of publication in January, so I'm thinking I might try and get ahead of the game. Might be my Christmas chunky. Not all that chunky, I know. I might need to revise the title to a Christmas classic.

>69 Helenliz: I just recently read Frankenstein myself for the first time in my life (at age 70!). It was great. I highly recommend this book for a shared read.

I was surprised that Frankenstein was not the monster, but only the doctor who created the monster. What I thought would be a horror book turned out to be a very sad story. I can understand this novel being a classic. I think it has a timeless story to tell.

It's not a chunkster at all. I read it very quickly.

Have I sold others on it yet? Go read it!

>70 Helenliz: Even if Thursday is the big day, I cannot promise that I'll get to all the corrections right away. This is a busy week for me. Keep up with what you're doing, and I'll squeeze the wiki updates in when I can. I plan to start with the December wiki and TIOLI meter to take relief off of Lori and those others who so kindly worked with her to keep the Google doc going. That was such a treat. Thank you again...and again!

I like Lisa Carey's* book so I'm not going to exchange that one for another one. :D

*For those who don't know, Lisa Carey is Tim Spalding's wife. :) She's a good writer, too!

>11 thornton37814: Well shoot, I haven’t been posting new books added except for the Solstice challenge or books I’ve completed because I was just going to update the WIKI myself when it was fixed. However, if it’s going to be the end of the year, then I guess I should have you guys do it. Post #10 has all my planned books for each challenge. The ones with a ✔ have been completed. Will that work for you?

I’m hoping that all of our wiki pages going forward from July were saved. I’m pretty sure they were. If not, my priority will be to learn how to use the new wiki for our current challenges and then later figure out what else to do. It’s also not very cool that this spam attack happened or strengthened so close to the end of the year. :(
