Good morning.
I just discovered to be the second one with the highest number of books edited by Peter Handke: honestly surprising. I understand that Librarything is primarily a library addressed to US people, but I think the austrian writer should have had more readers across the world. Anyway, it's absolutely not a problem. It's important to read, whoever author you like.
I'd like to get in touch, if possibile and interested, with other people who love Peter Handke way of writing and its wonderful books. To share some thoughts, some concerns (because I have them) and some ideas about the author: and to hope together in a Nobel prize.....

Peter Handke to add touchstone.

This is the second time in a couple of days that someone adds a touchstone despite their being an About. What is the difference? Why are both good to have?

You may have one of the highest number of Handke's books, but the top books have hundreds of readers. A quick look at the combine page gives me the impression that a lot of his books have not been published in English. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Handke_bibliography only lists 36 in English. If that is the case, English readers cannot have more books than you do.

>3 anglemark: I guess easier to get to the author page.

How is it easier? The About and the touchstones boxes are under each other - both have the same link to the author. I am asking seriously - is there a reason to enforce a touchstone if we already have the author in the About box? Am I missing some difference?

If I'm reading a post, I can click on the touchstone right there. I don't have to go to the "touchstones" box or the "about" box. And when a thread is more than a couple of posts long, neither the "about" section nor the "touchstones" section is visible when you're reading the newest posts, unless there are a whole slew of them. (In this thread, for instance, once I scroll past the first post, I can't see the "about" box on my monitor.)
I don't think I ever look at the "About" box. But I frequently click on touchstones in messages.

The 'about' has the advantage that you can find this topic from the author page.

Thank you for explaining the added benefit you see in it, @krazy4katz and @lilithcat! :)

I guess I didn't notice the "about" box. Frankly, I forgot it existed.

I think very highly of Handke. I enjoy his books best with time and concentration which I am short on. Thanks for the reminder to read more of his work

Thanks for the answer.
In reality I'm an italian, so the situation is worst. Thw books translated are problably no more than 40.
I understand german language, I tried to read a book in original but I wasn't able to fuly understand (neither partially) so I didn't proceed. In other words,I'm limited by my knowledge.

Thanks to you Diabolical_DrZ, it's nice to discover someone else interested in Peter Handke!
