Is the September thread up yet?

>13 LadyoftheLodge: No, and thanks for reminding me. With the pandemic I often don't know what day it is and I'm sure others are the same.

I've left Dejah a message, and if I don't hear from her in a couple of days, I'll set it up. Unless someone else is keen to? I'd be happy to contribute some Philosophy suggestions if someone could do the same for Religion.

Has anyone heard from Dejah_Thoris? If I don't hear from her by tomorrow morning, Melbourne time (GMT + 10h), I'll set it up. Any religion suggestions?

I would think memoir would work for the religion section as many write about their personal experiences in organized religion. Also there are many books focused on the history of world religions.

>15 pamelad: A few of my favorite books on religion, from a Christian perspective:

- Anything by C. S. Lewis, but Mere Christianity is a great starting point if you've never read him
- Orthodoxy by G. K. Chesterton
- Time for God and Interior Freedom by Jacques Philippe, both of which are extremely good and extremely short

Memoir, biography, historical perspectives would all work. Here are Christian selections from my shelves:

Living with the Monks by Jesse Itzler
The Seven Storey Mountain by Thomas Merton (anything by Merton)
The Genesee Diary by Henri Nouwen (anything by Nouwen)
How to Read Church History Vol 1 and 2
Church History in Plain Language
Holy Men and Women (or anything by Pope Benedict)
My Life with the Saints by James Martin (lots of stuff by James Martin)

I do not really have any suggestions for other religious traditions, sorry about that.

Has anyone seen luvamystery65 about recently?

>21 pamelad: It is not yet the 15th of the month in the United States, the "traditional" day for cat threads to be created. I think that we should wait several days past the 15th before anyone else creates the thread -- probably wait through the weekend (unless you find out that luvamystery65 cannot do it).

Hello! I am planning to post the thread late tomorrow or Friday morning my time. (Central USA). I am looking forward to hosting before I start school again in December.
