prob not bug- prob just Amazon

just in case though...

so, most of my Amazon - via the new green add button - have been fine. i have a couple i need to clean up before clicking.

this evening, however, i got a plethora of foreign titles/covers. ive been erasing all data associated with that and re-entering the english. differing languages, primarily, Portuguese.

Is there a reason for that? i dont generally get books of other languages, directly from Amazon.

However, this does sound like an Amazon issue. But we can't tell for sure unless you provide an example.

When you do find a bug, report it, and please leave it. When you "fix" it, it makes it harder to track down.

I manually entered this- to avoid the "whatever".

hover on this button- or click on it you won't have to click to confirm- you will see right off that a weird cover appears- but not in a foreign language. doesn't seem to affect copies on this site at all

I cleaned up the linguistics

it came to me, either Spanish or Portuguese. but if you click on add button- you might see it

How were you searching for the book? By title/author? By ISBN?

It's definitely confusing to know exactly what is getting added to your library via ABX. I'm going to see what the developers think.

of course i can no longer hit button again - unless i delete that copy and start over.

hovering from caldecott list indicates only the english version

all the books i showed here and several more (that i didn't include, so as not to overwhelm you) - all came from the caldecott honor list

If you use the green "Add" button on the work you gave as an example: https://www.librarything.com/work/2990773, you'll note that the cover image is for the Portuguese edition.

Instead of us showing you the Portuguese title in the green "Add" (Quick Add Books) pop-up, we're showing the work title (which is in English, and is confusing). I think the developers are going to change this to match the edition that you're actually going to be adding to your library, so it's less confusing. This change hasn't been made, yet.

We need to make sure the title (what is actually in the text) is also reflecting the edition you're adding, so it's more clear.

Verified that this happens with The Wall.

This has been fixed, although the fix is that now the add books lightbox shows you the actual title that will be added; we can't control what data we get back, but at least this way you can see that the title being added is not the one you expect.

Fix is unfixed.
