Kristel's Reading 75 in 2023, 2nd quarter

Edited: Jul 1, 2023, 7:47 am

Hi, I've been a part of 75 Books Challenge since 2018. I am a recent widow (15 months), recent retiree, and a lover of lists and books. I try to read 1001 books, Pulitzer, Booker, SFF, and horror. I participated in various challenges here and there. I am on GR and am a moderator for Reading 1001. I also am on Litsy and enjoy Bookspin, Double Spin and Bookspin Bingo. I spend time in Florida and Minnesota.

I also enjoy Wordle, Antiwordle, and Quordle.

2023

I am a bit over half way to 75 books for the year.

What are your top 100, 1001 books?

Some of yours I still have to read and maybe they would displace some on my current list. You definately liked more German than me but I did like All Quiet on the Western Front. I must not have rated that one high enough. And I really like The Birds, too.

>138 Kristelh: Many of the Dutch list are translated (or original in English), as it leans heavy on the original. The trouble with it is that 139 books on the Dutch 1001 list are not translated in Dutch!
Seven books of the Dutch list are not available in English, so that is way less.
All lists combined AND available in Dutch translation gives me a list of 1147 books.

Tuesday, some sun, some clouds. Temps in the low 80s. A good day. Will lunch with a friend today.

Currently reading
Time Shelter by Georgi Gospodinov, winner of the Booker International. I am liking it. Like the exploration of time, old age, dementia.

Trying to put together my 20 books for July bingo (Litsy) challenge. Frustrated also with GR problems. But part of me feels like Amazon deserves it whatever the issue.
