Talk Good Show Sir! — bad science fiction and fantasy covers

I wanted tp post a specific message about the purposes of the group. It's not intended to replace the Good Show Sir website, only to supplement it. Bluntly, the provide a way for the GSS old stagers to stay in contact if the GSS website goes down. We have a good, friendly community there and I don't want to upset that.
In the interests of keeping it friendly, I propose (as I said previously) to pinch a rule from the Green Dragon group. In brief, no politics or religion. There's a Green Dragon thread about the rule, its rationale, and views on it. It's worked pretty well in the GD.

The group needs a group image. I was thinking of using the "generic fantasy extruded product" cover, but can't think of any way of searching for it. @GSSXN (or anyone else for that matter), if you read this, could you post a link please? or has anyone a better suggestion?

Note the new title. I wonder if we are going to have the GSS flagship much longer.

Good title, Sir! Need to plug this daily for as long as the main site stays up.
Do we also need a general chat thread, for comments unrelated to any covers? Maybe when more of us are here.

Since there will be less "editorial control" in this environment, I propose jettisoning a perennial criterion of GSS cover images, i.e. the live in situ photography requirement. While I appreciate the thought behind that stipulation, it has real drawbacks in practice, resulting in images that are unclear, foreshortened covers, and ones partly obscured by stickers. Moreover, we can easily source cover images from within LibraryThing itself. Here's a method for including such an image in a Talk post:
1. Go to the Book page and select Cover Images from the left-hand menu.
2. Choose a cover image and click on it for the Information dialog box that shows the image at full size.
3. Right click on the image and Copy image address.
4. In the talk post, use this script syntax, pasting the address within the double-quotes:
5. Voila!

Our longtime #1!
I'm still going to submit my live photos, if only so I can free up some storage space. But then off to clearer pastures. Like this guy.

It's worth mentioning that there are topics in the Green Dragon group on beautiful book covers. The latest is here: Beautiful Book Covers 2.

I'd like to see our Top 10 archived like this, not necessarily the comments. Just covers. Maybe 15 or 20 or...
I'd like to see The Wanderer Bilbullalllablll and Stovetop Coil Boobs, whatever that was titled, brought here to for posterity. The rest of you have your own faves.

I've been looking at the description for a while now and my inner proofreader is bugged.
Can @haydninvienna change the last line to
That is the Mother Lode, so to speak.
My 2c.
(Which is about twice what I got on my last paid gig, for which I was overpaid)

Speaking of our Top Ten, the Reddit group has discovered stovetop boobs!

And the second-newest one is another we had fun making fun of.

Further explanation of this post of mine, for anyone who's puzzled by it.
There has been a small rash recently of messages in Talk with a bit of boilerplate slop followed by a recommendation of a public database (this one was a US State arrests database IIRC) for investigations. The first one I saw was posted in a Talk thread that was explicitly a memorial to our late friend @MrsLee. Consequently I'm rather bitter about them. I will remove any more of them that pop up in either of the 2 groups I'm admin of (this one and The Guild of Pratchett Fans).
Fear not though: with great power comes great responsibility, and I will use my superpowers only for good.

Just found a reference to the original goodshowsir in this old Name that book thread. I'd forgotten all about posting that! (Scroll up to post 7)

Some of you may find this short review of the history and now the current state of the F/SF cover art interesting:

Can someone link to the instructions for posting larger photos? I’d like to try that instead of the smaller images.

Edit #2: I just noticed that I highlighted the wrong thing on the popup menu. You'll want the choice directly below my highlight... oops! ;)
Edit: Here is a screen-shot of a pic in my junk drawer. I have right-clicked on the image to get the menu where I am selecting 'Copy Image Link', (I'm using Windows so the right-click function might be different if you are on Mac or Linux). At any rate, the HTML code I used in this post is...
