I'm Jim, 62, husband of 38 years, father of a son gainfully employed creating our robot overlords, who reads pretty much anything. We're in central Maryland with roots in Louisiana. I like to read (obviously), cook, trail bike ride/kayak with mrsdrneutron, and want to learn to fly fish and sail. There's probably bourbon somewhere in there too. Of course, LT is a big time sink, but mrsdrneutron seems to have come to terms with my LT addiction...
2BLBera
My name is Beth (BLBera) and I am a recently retired English instructor. I love retirement. I have been able to travel during the school year. In 2025, I plan to visit Scotland and Iceland. Besides travel and reading, I also like to sew and spend time with my granddaughter Scout.
I read eclectically, mostly fiction, but I do tend to always have a volume of poetry and a book of essays going as well. I belong to a book club that has been going since 2002, and I do group reads here on LT. Otherwise I don't plan my reading. I always resolve to read more from my shelves, but those shiny new library books do distract me.
I look forward to 2025 and my continued reading of the works of Shakespeare.

Hi, I am Robyn with a "y". It's my second year with the 75ers though I have been on LibraryThing since 2017, and I am looking forward to it. I read mostly science fiction and fantasy (although last year was mostly fantasy) with occasional forays into historical fiction. I'm a member of a smut book club reading adult fiction once or twice a month. I live in San Antonio, TX with my wife Raine, 3 dogs, and 3 cats.

Hi, my name is Jeff, I've been on LT for almost 18 years, and 2025 will be my 13th as a 75er. I came into this group reading mostly Science Fiction, but thanks to the many BBs presented by my fine friends of this group, my book reading world has been both broadened and increased immensely. In the group, I organize the yearly Secret Santa we do in the group, so expect me to hear from me about it in November.
I live in San Pedro, with my wife Laura, my soon to be 24 yr old daughter and 3 cats.
Here is my Q1 thread, stop on by, https://www.librarything.com/topic/366833#

Hi! My name is Krys. I found LibraryThing.com two days ago so I'm very new here. It sounds like loads of fun and I'm excited.
I'm a Miami, FL native in my late 30s and a Miami-Dade County Library cardholder since 1993 (thanks, Dad!). I live with my husband, two sons, two cats, and a Labrador retriever. I was quite the bookworm until 2016 when the chaos of early motherhood made reading for myself impossible. It wasn't until the pandemic that I realized books are my de-stressors and thus, quite necessary to my sanity.
I'm also taking part in the 2025 Category Challenge.

Hi all. My name is Gail, and I’ve been on LT since 2008, and in the 75’ers, much more on than off, since 2009.
Always been a book nerd, but also love painting and art journaling, doing word puzzles, and spending time at the beach. Origins from Massachusetts but now live on the west coast of Florida.
I participate in some group reads, in a very few challenges, and in book events on You Tube, but only as a poster, not as a content creator.

Hello again! I'm Emilie, a veterinary nurse who lives in Michigan. I spend my free time either reading or riding my horse. Most of my books are horse books, but I also read some romance, fiction, children's books, general non-fiction, and history. Some years I find a new genre and that becomes all I read. My 2025 thread is here!
9SandDune
My name is Rhian and I've been retired (from accountancy) for nearly four years now. I live about thirty miles north of London with my husband (a.k.a. Mr SandDune) who is a part-time history teacher and our dog Daisy. Our 24 year old son Jacob, who lives with his long-term girlfriend Caroline in a nearby town, is now training as an English teacher.
I read mainly literary fiction, science-fiction and fantasy, and some crime (but nothing too gruesome). I’m also starting to read books in Welsh, although still only ones designed for learners or children at the moment.
Apart from reading I love travelling, eating out, crocheting and going to the theatre. I'm a member of the local Green Party and have been quite involved in campaigning on climate change.

Hello! My name is Lia. I'm in my early 30s, an English teacher, and I live in Montana with my husband and son. I just got back into reading after pregnancy and post partum temporarily wiped out my energy.
I just joined LT in the fall to try to find the name of a book I read in jr high and I've enjoyed hearing about what everyone is reading, recommending books to others, and trying to help others find long lost titles.
I mostly read mysteries for fun and YA lit for work but I like to vary up my genres when the mood strikes.
When I'm not reading or teaching I like traveling, cooking, riding bicycles, cross country skiing, knitting, and watching hockey.

Howdy! My name is Bryce. I'm in my early 20s, and I work in youth development. Born and Raised in Eastern Kentucky and still live in the state, although I've left the hills behind. I've been an avid book-reader since early childhood, but took a big break during my undergrad years.
I just joined LT today to catalogue my collection, and have decided to branch out to the community aspect!
I mostly read YA lit and Sci Fi/Dystopia, but I've dabbled in just about everything, can't be too picky!
When I'm not reading or working, I'm usually hiking, camping, or birding!

Hi there! I am Anne. I think this will be year 16 in the 75-ers group, and it is my online home, though I have struggled in recent years to keep up! I live in Lakewood, CO with my husband Stelios and our daughter Marina (23) and two cats. Our other daughter Callia lives nearby. I am a "Digital Teacher Librarian" in a small mountain elementary school. I love to travel, though I am limited to school break travel. I am a dedicated cook and when we can, we love to hike our beautiful Colorado mountain trails.
I read a lot of middle grade fiction, adult fiction of all kinds, cookbooks, and I always have an audiobook going for commutes up to school.

Hi I'm Mary, I'm a librarian in western Massachusetts. I read a lot of fantasy, historical fiction, and contemporary fiction, but I'll pick up almost anything that intrigues me. I'm going to be attempting to read a lot of non-U.S. authors this year as well as focus on indigenous authors, and I also facilitate one of our library book clubs.
Outside of reading, I enjoy watching sports (American football, tennis, and hockey) and knitting.
Here's my thread for 2025.

Hi I'm Mikail. I am a landlord in Minneapolis, MN. I am a strange millenial. Only 30 but I have been on LT for 15 years now! Whoa! Half my life! Unfortunately my friends and age group seem mainly interested in video games so I have to join sites like LT to meet other people who read.
I have 4 cats that keep me busy when I'm at home. Single, no kids, kind of boring.
I am open to reading anything.

My name is Anita. I live in Canada, am in my mid 30's and single. I have been part of this group for 10 years but only became social here in 2020. What started out as a way to catalogue my books became so much more. I am grateful for this group and all the wonderful people in it.
Mostly read crime, historical fiction, memoir and biography. I do enjoy science fiction as well.
Besides books, I spend a lot of time gardening. From vegetables, to flower beds there is always something to do. I have a few chickens and two cats.

Hello everyone! I'm Natalie. I have participated in the challenge on and off over my 15+ years on LT, and consistently over the past several years.
I'm in my early 30s and located in the Seattle area, where I live with my husband and dogs. I do most of my reading curled up on the couch with my retired racing greyhounds Otter and Kermit, or listening to audiobooks while doing chores and walking the dogs.
I read mostly fiction, with a heavy emphasis on fantasy and sci-fi, romance, YA fiction, general fiction/literature, a scattered mystery here and there, and the occasional non-fiction title.

I'm Steve, 56, a technical services librarian at a medium-sized private university in Oklahoma, where I live with my wife, my son, and my running partner Buddy. This is my 15th year with the 75ers.
My reading follows my whims, but is heaviest with science fiction and fantasy. I also read mysteries, thrillers, and horror. I don't read enough non-fiction, but when I do it covers a range of subjects including history, language, popular science, mathematics, running, library science, and shiny stuff.

Hello everyone, I'm Laura, retired and living with my husband Chris in an 18th century farmhouse in northern Virginia with our two dogs, Alys and Ellie. 2025 is my seventeenth year in the 75 Book Challenge Group! It’s been years since I achieved the 75 book “goal,” although I came really close in 2024. But my totals don’t really matter. I read mostly contemporary fiction, but also enjoy classics and narrative non-fiction. Visit my thread here:

Hello! I'm back after an extended absence at the end of last year due to endless hours of German. Thanks for those of you who left messages for me on my last thread of 2024, I read them all. :)
I'm Ursula, just like it says on the tin. I come from California but my husband and I (Morgan, also from California) have a terrible habit of moving and so we find ourselves in Germany. March will mark 2 years here. I've been in the 75ers some number of years, off and on. I read whatever grabs me in the library catalog on Libby - by the cover, title or author since I don't read summaries. I've relaxed this a little over the years; I might look at the first line through squinting eyes to see if there's anything in there that elicits a "nope" from me. But it could be current fiction, science fiction, horror, something else entirely. In theory I try to read some non-fiction but last year that didn't happen at all.
I also listen to a ton of music and post about that. In addition to that, I'm an artist and have 3 cats so you might see drawings, and you might see cats! My brand-new thread is here: https://www.librarything.com/topic/367073

I am Karen Richardson, aka Witchyrichy, and this is my 11th year in the 75ers group, and in October 2025, I will celebrate my 20th year on LibraryThing. I am mostly retired from public life although I do a bit of teaching related to educational technology for a couple universities and some instructional design for a few clients.
I live with my husband of 33 years, Bob, and Circe the cat, in a 19th century farmhouse on 18 acres in rural southeast Virginia. Bottle Tree Farm, as we call it, is our own little bit of paradise and came with a library for my books. Besides reading, I garden, crochet, and play music as my main hobbies. Last year, I joined a handmade book group and have been experimenting with gel plate printing and collage.
I am an eclectic reader with a preference for historical fiction and nonfiction. I want to really dig into my own shelves this year.
I am looking forward to another great year of reading and sharing.

Looks like I failed to introduce myself.
I'm Lori, a librarian and genealogist living in Tennessee. I love to cross stitch in my spare time. I've been in the 75 group since about 2011 although I joined LT in 2007 and first joined a group (the Category Challenge) in 2010.

Writer, reader of just about anything. Corgi lady (in thrall/enthralled since 1976), harp and concertina player, knitter, walker, swimmer and x-country skier.
32ArlieS
I'm Arlie, now starting my 5th year of the 75 books challenge. How did the time pass so fast?
I'm a retired software engineer living in Silicon Valley, California, broadly defined.
I read fiction to escape the world, and non-fiction to learn more about it. This might be a bit inconsistent ;-)
My fiction reading tends to science fiction, fantasy, and some historical fiction and mysteries.
My non-fiction tends towards science, history, and technology, but more recently there's also been a lot of economics and politics.
My thread at https://www.librarything.com/topic/367049 is still under construction, with 3 posts having titles but no content. It is, however, open for business.

35PawsforThought
Hi!
I'm PawsforThought, usually referred to as just Paws here on LT. I joined LT in 2012 and became a member of the 75ers in 2013. I have never managed to reach the magic number, and don't expect to do it this year either.
I'm 40 and live in the northern part of Sweden. I'm currently looking to by a flat in my old home town after having spent 3 years commuting to and from work. I'm looking forward to not having to do that anymore and also to come home again. In the meanwhile, I'm trying to help my mum look after my dad who has dementia.
My reading mostly consists of classics, fantasy, children's books, golden age mysteries and comedic work. I'm not big on non-fiction, but if I do read it it's nearly always related to culture, language, arts and history. Oh, and dinosaurs.
Feel free to stop by my thread if you want. I also have a thread in the Needleworks group, as I like knitting and sewing.

It has really helped improve my reading, with all the good reading suggestions from fellow 75ers. I am a social worker, specializing in geriatric mental health, live with my wife, daughter and cat (Banjo) Mostly I read literary fiction, but I think I am a bit eclectic.

37ronincats
Hi, I am Roni. I live in the middle of Kansas and have been on LT since 2007 and a member of the 75ers since June, 2008. My involvement here dropped dramatically due to changes in life circumstances (death of a spouse, moving halfway across the country to be close to family, moving into a beautiful Craftsman bungalow with lots of space and sunlight and storage and garden and yard and space for books and space for my pottery studio); it's funny how suddenly having people to socialize with and lots of things to keep up cuts down on visiting threads or even posting on my own. I spend two days a week over in the next town doing errands for or with my 93 year old mother, and the rest of the time keeping up with three cats, the garden and house, and crafting.
My reading is primarily fantasy and science fiction. I do a lot of rereading of classics and favorite series these days, and also read a lot of junk fantasy available through Kindle Unlimited. I am a Georgette Heyer fan, about the only romance I really enjoy. In mystery, I love the Dr. Siri books, the Sebastian St. Cyr series, the Blind Justice series, and dabble in a few others. I try to read 6 to 12 nonfiction a year.
If you visit me and comment, I will visit you!

Hi everyone!!!
I'm Kelly, or KB! I have been on LT for a lil bit, and this is my second attempt at the 75 book challenge! I tried last year, but I didn't do as well as I'd hope!!! Although, if I counted all the help with my daughter (who read 200 school books), I'd have it in the bag. I also re-read my PhD thesis about 1,000 times (if you know, you know).
Anyway, I'm in my early 30's and from Australia. I am now officially a Dr (PhD)!!!!! It only took me six years hahaha. I work as an academic and am a mum to an 8 year old with both autism and T1 diabetes. I'm a stepmum and a mum to two retired racing greyhounds.
This year I'm planning on doing a lot more reading, although am super proud I actually got as much done as I did last year!
I'll be TRYING to keep up with all notifications but I'll do what I can.
Looking forward to connecting with you all!

>38 KB23: Six years isn’t very long for a PhD! Here (I work at a university in Sweden) everyone takes at least five years. Well done for finishing it!

Hiya all, my name is Thanesh and I started in LT in 2007 mostly as a way to track my reading so that I do not end up reading books that I had covered previously, yeah my memory is pretty bad and I would find myself half way through a book before I'd realize; hey this sounds familiar cos off course I had read it before and what a waste of time that was! I am based in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, having moved here from South Africa 10 years ago. Together with my wife and two kiddos we like activities that get us outdoors so travelling, hiking, camping, scouts, swimming as all par for the course. I work in the beer industry at a large brewery which is tons of fun and really, I can't complain about that! While I still like to keep track of my reading LT has become so much more than just that just as is that case for many of you in this group. I am excited to be back for my third year in the 75ers. My reading varies a lot depending on what's going on, places I travel to and what I have read before that I am committed to finishing, yes guilty I am a bit of a completist! This is a great group of folks who are very supportive and encouraging so it quickly becoming my most loved place on the internet! I have been reporting my reading progress monthly in the past two years so look out for my next update early in Feb.

>39 PawsforThought: Thank you! In Australia, we're normally given 4 years!!! I had to take leave (hence why the time blew out). But I'm thrilled. I would love to hear more about the process in Sweden! :)

>41 KB23: Full time, it’s four years in Sweden too, but universities often demand that PhD students teach (or do admin, or both) at 20% during their PhD which draws the time out to five years. And of course plenty of people have babies, which means time off, or they might just take longer than planned. Stuff happens.

>42 PawsforThought: Yes, it's similar here! Life tends to get in the way with these things. Big commitment though!

Hi, all. I'm Madeline. I've been a member of LT since 2006. Wow! Where have all those years gone?
I live in Rockville, Maryland, USA. I'm married, mother of three, and grandmother of two. I retired from nursing in 2013, but now I fill my days as a Little Free Library steward, reader, BookCrosser, jigsaw puzzler, gardener, and experimenter with new recipes! :D I am famous (Ha!) here on LT for being the founder and maintainer of the TIOLI Challenges, a half-hidden, but wide open, challenge which encourages diverse and collaborative reading. My first 2025 thread can be found here.

I'm Joel. I'm back home in southeast Michigan after a long time stuck in Oklahoma. Work in public education after a brief first career in alcohol sales. I *would* be mostly gardening, hiking, and working on some community/mutual aid projects when not reading, but when we're not spending time with the family its so good to be near again, we're spending most weekends trying to find a house we can afford to buy in this market.
My first year doing the 75 challenge, I got close last year and decided to give it a try this year. Mostly science fiction, fantasy, horror, and mystery, but a few other things mixed in from time to time!

Hi everyone, I'm Jasmin.
I'm a grad student based in Vancouver, Canada. I was born in Korea but really grew up in Malaysia/Toronto. I'm still fairly fluent in Korean, which comes in handy when I want to read books by Korean authors.
My favourite genres are lit-fic and romance. I've been a GoodReads user, but I've been drifting away from it, so I joined LT in the new year to try it out. This is my first year doing the 75 challenge, and it's wonderful that the group is so active. Unfortunately my reading numbers took a hit after grad school, but I'm hoping this motivates me!
