How can I book a room for a weekend stay at LibraryThing? And when can we expect the golden statue of Tim?

Hmmmm……?

Why would you want to stay at a Library Anything that doesn't actually have books? Online is one thing, but to stay there?

>1 paradoxosalpha: As far as I know, the only venue to stay in is the Diogenes Club https://www.librarything.com/topic/160609
Golden statue at the premises is out of the question, as anything else that makes noise. But I support the Golden Tim project elsewhere

I've heard Maine is delightful in summer. Will the LT house provide tea and coffee along with the reading room, or will I need to bring my own?

You say this, but for a while Tim had a VRBO apartment on the premises. It was very nice. I don't think that is currently the case, though he might offer further comment here.
You can probably get a "tour" of the LibraryThing HQ if you are in Portland. Though I warn you that you're going to be very disappointed. :)

>3 MarthaJeanne: Believe it or not, the owner of LibraryThing has a plethora of books at HQ. :)

>7 kristilabrie: I am shocked! Shocked to find that there are books in this establishment.

Now that my joke has had nearly a week in which demonstrably to fail to land, here is its original premise:

>10 paradoxosalpha: I got it. I was sure it was related to the presidential library that was going to have a hotel, and a big golden statue, but no mention of books.
BTW >7 kristilabrie: Of course Tim has books around, even if not readable on the website. But I was so flummoxed by the descriptions of everything in that other library that seemed to include everything except books. Just we have so often to explain to new users that we don't download books from LT.

>10 paradoxosalpha: OK. I just read the article. Of course it won't have any books unless his picture is on the front cover.
One question: it said a Boeing 747 gifted to him by Qatar will be in the lobby? Is that consistent with the laws of physics?
Yours in eternal confusion…

I accept that the world has people who don't know the difference between a library and a hotel. But I don't accept that we should have one as President of the United States.
