Now that Spring has sprung, many thoughts turn to a trip to the beach.so we will look at WATER FOWL

There are so many types of water fowl that are classified as Ducks, swans, geese, loons, herons, and others, it will be hard to narrow the selection down. I might have to do Water Fowl twice, there are so many to choose from.
Hopefully, my selections will bring a smile to your face.
Ducks
WOOD DUCK
BLUE SWEDISH
AYLESBURY DOMESTIC
HARLEQUIN
MANDARIN
EIDER
SWANS
I was unaware until I was looking at swans that the reason why the 12 Days of Christmas has Seven Swans a-swimming on the 7th day was because there are 7 types of swans.

TRUMPETER
MUTE
BLACK
TUNDRA
FYI - Tundra swans are also Whistling Swans
BLACK NECKED
COSCOROBA
WHOOPER SWAN
GEESE

MAGELLAN GOOSE
African Pygmy Goose
CANADA GOOSE
EGYPTIAN GOOSE
EMPEROR GOOSE
HAWAIIAN GOOSE
We will have to visit Water Fowl again to see the Herons, loons, screamers, Mergansers, teals, and scaups.

>1 cyderry: I love that swan fact - I didn't know there was such a link between the varieties of swan and their position in the 12 days of Christmas, either!
4Familyhistorian
>1 cyderry: Nice to see the different water fowl but in the ending pictures where you show the geese it should be Canada Goose not Canadian Goose.

I love all the things you tell and show about birds. Lovely pictures as well.

Only two books read in May for me - the second one was a dense history of anticolonial resistance and British dissent to empire and took almost the full month to read. At least it was a ROOT!

I had no problem updating my ticker earlier today.
However, there are some that don't seem to be coming up.

The ticker thread is working but there are a lot of broken threads. Mine is still there with the amount I just updated. I'm only at 20 out of a goal of 65. Looks like I'll have to concentrate on reading more of my own books going forward!
