Lending and loaned

I'm a relaitvely new users - trying to manage my personal collection. I'm keen to be able to tag books as lending or loaned. Lending - simply who I am lending to, date lent, date returned. I might need several instances of lending if I lend the same book to different people over time. Loaned - Who I loaned from, date loaned, date returned.

Would others like to see this feature? (or if it is already here - have I missed it!!??)

There is circulation in the LT database, but it is probably easier to use in TinyCat, which is free for personal users. But to take full advantage of it, I think you would need to make your library public.

Such a feature already exists. You just have to make it visible.

In your catalogue, click the settings button. This gives you access to your catalogue views (where you include different columns and categories). "Lending" you'll find under "Basic" and "Personal". Drag it to the view you want and hit "save".

Additionally, on the overview page of each of your books, there's a box with "your book information". Click the "customize" button if you want that box to show your lending status.

You can also make your lending status show up on your home page -- there's a module for that. I don't know where it is to be found among the options on the left-hand side (my home page has been customized, and my lending module sits in the "unused" category). But you can click the plus sign in any module's top right corner to add it to a section of your home page. You can then rearrange the order of the modules on your home page to make it more or less prominent.

"Who I loaned from, date loaned, date returned"

I don't believe there is currently a feature to track your borrowed books.

I use a Borrowed collection and the "From Where?" field. Seems to cover it. Items I have returned get moved to "Read but unowned" or deleted from the catalog if I didn't read them.

I use Read but unowned with a tag for where ir's from. Usually @Hauptbücherei. This means that books are sometimes both in Read but unowned and To Read.

I use "owned" "unowned" "read" and "unread" as tags. From that combination I can always figure out whether I have it.

>3 Petroglyph: Brilliant. Thank you. I am still learning the complexities on offer - and this has helped me explore the settings in more detail than I had before, as well as solving my immediate issue. Thanks!!!
