#249 I'm a skeptic as well, RA, and looked it up. i think what they really mean is 'get all 4 feet off the ground at the same time.' in that sense, tortoises and turtles can 'jump' both in early stages of their lives and, in the case of turtles anyway, when 'jumping' off of a high point into water when they're frightened.
