Description
When Sunny Langstein decides to pack up her Florida life and move in with her boyfriend in Manhattan, her big sister isn't thrilled. What modern-day twenty-four-year-old leaves her promising career, fabulous friends and perfect underground parking spot with accompanying convertible for...a guy?Only, Sunny has an additional incentive: the chance to star on Party Girls, the latest reality-television show. True, she might become a national laughingstock and it pays nothing, BUT it's a job--a show more job in Manhattan. She'll get to be with her boyfriend, Steve. Okay, so she can't tell anyone she isn't single--but with freebie designer clothes, alpha-beta peels and coconut-cream pedicures to make her transformation into a made-for-TV single girl complete...she can't lose!
But when the show's premiere plunges Sunny into a media frenzy of talk shows, tampon endorsements, TV heartthrobs and S&M toys, how long will it take for Sunny to lose track of where she ends and her alter ego, Sunny Lang the Über Fashionista Single Superstar, begins?

Sunny is leaving Florida for New York City to move in with her boyfriend, but at the last minute, her job falls through. When a friend offers to help get her a spot on a reality tv show, Party Girls, Sunny is hesitant, but it’s a job to keep her going for a few weeks until she find a real job. Unfortunately, Sunny gets all caught up in being a star and being on tv, and she forgets what’s important.
I quite enjoyed this (overall). Sunny was very unlikeable in the middle of the story, though, when she was all caught up in herself, her image, and the show. What an awful reality show, though! I enjoyed the few parts where there were roommates watching the show, so there was a bit of an outsider’s perspective on the show itself.

A really different, fun story. Sunny's boyfriend Steve has asked her to move in with him. Since she lives in Florida and he in NYC, this is quite a commitment! Sunny lines up a job, resigns, relinquishes her apartment... and finds her job offer withdrawn.
Into the breach steps her father's girlfriend (and Sunny's past camp counselor) Carrie with an offer too good to refuse... if you're absolutely desperate. Pretend to be single for ten weeks of reality tv - as one of four Party Girls!
The glamour eventually digs into Sunny's psyche and changes her -- for the better? Or not? And what does Steve think? This story explores colleague friendships, loving relationships, and self-value, and is lots of fun in the process. Recommended.

There were moments of laugh-out-loud in this story about Sunny Langstein, her attempt to get to stay with her boyfriend in Manhattan and ending up on a reality TV show. It was entertaining but I'm not sure if the author knew where she was going with the story or whether it was just a cool idea that kinda petered out at the end.
Entertaining and a lot of the details about the reality TV moments ring fairly true!

A lot of fun, very funny, and slightly poignant - this was a great, fast read with interesting characters and a fast-paced and entertaining storyline. Mlynowski is a great author.
Original story and very enjoyable. It is cleverly written and the writer has a great sense of humor.
One of the first chick lit books i ever read. I enjoyed it mostly, but towards the end, it lost me a bit. I'll have to re-rad it some time, since I can only partially remember it.
As someone hooked on Reality TV, I totally enjoyed this book. Really really funny.
