As FPW finishes up with Jack's teen years, he is much more mission oriented, like he will become later in life, and doing it much more alone. That's largely because his mission is a defense of Weezy against one of the young, self-appointed god-jocks of the school. The party of the narrative around Jack's mission to drive the jock crazy is great, classic Jack. But I felt like the subplot, whether the jock is actually going crazy and why, got too little attention. Ultimately, that larger plot, especially because it features the Barons, could have gotten a little more play.

I enjoyed the teen Jack sub-series, but I'm not sure that FPW exactly nailed the landing. Fans won't be disappointed, exactly, but they might have expected a little bit show more more.

3 1/2 bones!!!!

Purportedly the final tale in the "young Repairman Jack" books aimed mainly at teens/pre-teens, this books is still very enjoyable for adults, especially with subject matter that is at times rather mature. Tough to choose between this and "Secret Circles" for the best of the Jack series, but you don't have to choose, read them all! And if you're reading the Repairman Jack saga (which you should), then you must read the Jack books to get the full story. For instance, you see exactly how and where Jack and his future armorer Abe Grossman meet. It's a very well done bit and hopefully will be expanded soon…more on this anon…

As previously noted, the Jack books really should be considered essential reading for RJ fans. Better still, as I show more presently read the intro to the "last" Repairman Jack novel, "The Dark At The End", I see F. Paul has another trilogy of stories planned to slake desperate readers, books that apparently will fit in between "Secret Vengeance" and "The Tomb". Well, good! There's certainly more story to tell, I imagine, and if it's as good as this, it can't help but be good news. show less
The teenaged, less lethal version of Repairman Jack engages in what would one day become his trademark, revenge. He seeks to exact revenge against the school jock who humiliated Jack's closest friend. Only the jock overreacts. Jack is going to find out why. Good read. There is never too much of Repairman Jack, even the RJ-Light version served up in this teen novel.
Teenage Jack takes revenge on the school football god after he molests Jack's friend Weezy. Odd things are going on in the background, include some pineys with odd talents who think that Jack has one, too. But the heart of the book is Jack learning to "fix" things.

This is another book in the Repairman Jack series. Jack avenges
his friend Weezy after she has been attacked by the school football star. In the process he helps solve the mystery of a missing girl. The book touches on issues that teens face.
