Series note: While the heroine is introduced in an earlier book, neither the hero nor the plot is related to previous installments. All necessary backstory is provided herein and as such, the book can be read as a standalone.

Similar to the previous book, the first half is intense and compelling as the second chances romance and the cult plot are established. Unfortunately, the second half takes a turn for the worse as the internal angst between the H/h becomes repetitive and the infiltration and rescue require tremendous leaps of logic and a healthy suspension of disbelief.

Seth and Honor are appealing both as individuals and as a couple. While it is impossible not to feel for them when circumstances tear them show more apart, it is evident that their separation could have been avoided if Seth had trusted Honor more. Reece handles their reconciliation well and kudos to her for not having Honor forgive and forget too easily. Nevertheless, much of the angst in the second half is redundant.

The cult leader is reminiscent of Reece's other villains with his rabid misogyny and sadistic nature. This is only compounded by his incestuous relationship with his equally vicious daughter. The inclusion of the perspective of one of his victims adds another layer of tension and suspense to the storyline.

In sum, Reece's LCR series has a great deal of potential, but the endings need tightening up.

As usual, another hit. The story was heartflet, plenty of action and suspense, add some steamy and hot scenes between Seth and Honor and you have a bestseller. I like how the development goes in theses books, everything is paced perfectly to ensure us a smooth plot. Loved the epilogue.
Although the "tragedy" that happens in the first two chapters of this book is no where near as shocking as what has been in previous books it was still sad and of course set the stage for Seth and Honor's heartbreak that was slowly healed through out the book.

Five years later Honor is working for LCR.. Noah's assignment to her is to find Seth's neice and work with Seth whom she hasnt seen in 5 years and still has resentments toward as she doesnt know the real reason why he did what he did all those years before.

The villian Alden Pike was a sexual sadist cult leader. Now I have read this type before but his having sexual relations with his daughter through out the whole book was a little creepy. And his daughter Tabitha was one sick show more chick herself

We get to see alot of Noah, Aiden and Jared in this book (Jared is book 3 in this series)..Its always nice to see Noah and hear how Samara is doing.

What was the best part for me - was the preview to Dylan's book.. His heroine is Jamie who is McKenna's sister from the book LAST CHANCE. Cant wait for this book..
