This is one of the rare times I have read a book that was adapted from a screenplay. I always say that books are always better than their cinematographic adaptations and, honestly, the same could be said in this instance.

The story is engaging, it's one ride of a thriller with the added bonus of having a horrifying insight into Micheal's psyche. His PoVs are chilling and well rendered as are Laurie's and Loomis'. The killing scenes are not overly drawn out pointlessly which would have weighted down on the narration and the action is slowly built until it perfectly climaxed in the last chapter. And what can be said about that ending other than perfect!

The only negative point that I could harp upon is the constant change of PoV within the show more same scene but, even in this, it is passably well done so the reader is not too confused as to whose voice is speaking.

I highly recommend this novel to fans of the franchise.

Despite offering what would otherwise be a perfectly unique reading experience from a labor of love, the editing errors in this reprint are so atrocious they are a true distraction.
Loved the film. Loved the novel at least as much. Was interesting to hear Michael Myers' thoughts and the odd memory of him as a child. I wasn't so keen on the little explanation at the beginning about the curse in ancient times and so on, it felt a bit unnecessary and I would've preferred the author to have left it out completely.

Very good, which is probably not something that's said too often about novelisations.
Could've used another proof-reading pass (or two); quite a few textual errors that should have been caught and corrected. The artwork is very evocative, though I wish the artist had been willing or able to capture the actors' likenesses more consistently.
This is without a doubt my favorite movie. I have seen it hundreds of times and will watch it a thousand more, lol. I found this book at a little shop in georgia and read it. It adds a lot to the origins of Michael Meyers and to the story in general. I loved it, lol. And keep it by my copy of the DVD.
