After Bill O’Reilly wrote Killing Lincoln, he set out to create a younger version. Thus, Lincoln’s Last Days, was born.
The book has four parts which makes it a little daunting for young readers, particularly those who are reluctant readers. But the author breaks the book down into four sections to invite readers in a little more. It starts with the end of the Civil War through John Wilkes Booth and his accomplices’ planning of the president’s death and the search to find his assassinators.
Maps, original pictures and drawings add to the understanding of the events surrounding Lincoln’s show more death.
The book ends with additional information including the “afterword” which gives details about Lincoln’s family. The “interesting facts” presents period information about medicine, flags and weapons of the Civil War, transportation, a timeline, a glossary of military terms and a list of books and websites recommended by the author for further reading. show less

Very good condition. Dust jacket shows very minor wear. Covers are pristine. Pages clean and bright. Binding tight.

He received a bachelor's degree in history from Marist College, a master's degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University, and a master's degree in public administration from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. He started his broadcasting career in Scranton, show more Pennsylvania before moving on to report and anchor in other places including Dallas, Boston and New York. He worked with CBS and ABC News and was the host of the first version of Inside Edition. He began to work for FOX News in 1996 and is currently the host of The O'Reilly Factor. He has won numerous journalism awards including 3 Emmys. He also writes a weekly column that appears in more than 300 newspapers.
