I was given a copy for an honest review.

This anthology was very good. It had a mix of classic horror and modern. The theme isn't apparent in all of the stories, which is places or situations you shouldn't enter. I enjoyed all the stories, which is very rare for an anthology. The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle one was awesome. I love revenge!

This collection of short stories is a real mixed bag. I liked the idea of the theme, "be careful what you wish for." In execution, some of the stories come off like something you would find in an old EC comic. This is not always a bad thing.

I liked the mix of classic and modern fiction, although some of the classics were real duds. My favorite piece was "Bad Things Happen." This started off the book on a high point that none of the other stories quite attained.

Overall, I could take or leave this collection.
This book of shorts stories was a pleasure to read. At 250 pages, there are a lot of different types of writing styles to read. Each author provides their ideal spooky layout for a scary, creepy book. While I did find a few stories to be predictable, the overall quality was great. I recommend this book for a public library in the young adult section, because I think this age group would have the most appreciation for this content.

The catalogue entry for this book is linked incorrectly to Book of the Dead.
I won an Early Reviewer Copy of Book of the Dead (Edited by Alex Scully) which I have reviewed here:

J’aurais bien aimé avoir un avis sur ce livre, mais cela ne sera pas possible. L’éditeur me l’a envoyé dans un format PDF verrouillé, et n’est pas capable de me proposer une version au format ePub. Également, les images inclues dans le PDF sont d’une taille faramineuse, et la liseuse tremble de peur en chargeant le livre.

Cet ouvrage porte bien son nom d’ “Enter at your own risk” : moi j’ai été forcé de rester dehors.
