Enjoyable parallel plots as Kirk is stranded on an alien world while Spock combats an old enemy for control of a Federation mining colony. Fairly fun.
Spock, though gradually dying from an unknown poison, must abort a search and rescue mission for the Captain to fight an old foe from his past. A good enough adventure, made more interesting by Spock's reminiscences about his time on Captain Pike's Enterprise.

Okay. A little Kirk, a little Spock, a little McCoy, a little bad-guy alien outwitted by Spock. Not something I particularly will want to read again in less than a decade, but I'll keep it if I have shelf space for it.
OK, it's been a while since I have read this. I hate to add books that I read so many years ago, though I did read Legacy and wish you to acknowledge it!

This is what I am remembering to myself about Legacy:

"Spock you nerd! You would go and get poisoned by a creature tentacle! That Dreen! Remember Pike and Vina?"

My head feels funny from digging in it.

One day I will reread this and write a review to do it justice.
