Description
Inspector Thanet's daughter is a week away from her wedding and in the midst of flurried preparations he is called to investigate the suspicious death of Jessica Manifest. Found by her husband on their stairs with a broken neck it almost could have been an accident - except for the mysterious phone call for an ambulance. Thanet and Lineham uncover several suspects, whose tangled dealings with Jessica gave them all valid motives. The relationship between the 2 detectives was relaxing. It could have been the pathetic weak husband she actually beat often, the man she was having an affair with, the man who impregnated her when she was 16, or the man (boy) staulking her (wishing she were his mom). It turned out the be the daugther born by her and thinking she was her aunt.
