Susan Richards Shreve is the author of twelve novels and a number of books for children. She is a professor at George Mason University and the president of the PEN/Faulkner Foundation. She lives in Washington, D. C. She has won several awards for her writing including the Guggenheim award in fiction in 1980 and the Edgar Allan Poe Award, Mystery Writers of America, in 1988.
